"I'm home!!" I shouted as tried to pull all of my suitcases through the door. No one replied back so I guessed they were all out and about.
So I put my bags in my room and went outside to go look for my brother. He was either at Monse or Ruby's house but most likely Ruby's.

When I arrived at Ruby's, Him and Jamal where sitting on the porch talking. Suddenly Ruby's eyes went big and he started hitting Jamal to get his attention, but Jamal was on a roll. "Dude, shut up and look! Lani is home" Ruby shouted. Jamal stopped talking and as soon as he saw me, he ran up to me and squeezed the life out of me.

"Oh my god! You're home!" He shouted. "How come I didn't know you were coming home?"

"No one did" I huffed, while trying to fix my hair. "I wanted it to be a surprise, but no one was home when I got there"

"Yeah, mom and dad are at work and as you can see, I was here" Jamal smiled. "We're coming up with a plan to get Ruby laid"

"And that's my cue to leave" I chuckled.

"He's kidding" Ruby sighed and hit Jamal in the shoulder. "We're actually coming up ideas to get Caesar out of the gang"

I almost fell over laughing after hearing that, which caused them to look at me weird. "Oh fuck! You guys are serious" I continued to laugh as I wiped a tear away.

"It's possible!" Jamal exclaimed. "We just have to talk to Oscar.."

I laughed again "Good luck with that, isn't he locked up?"

"He's been home for like 3 months now" Ruby explained.

"Well take it from me, I've tried this before and it didn't work"

"YOU'VE TRIED THIS BEFORE!" They both yelled.

I nodded "Oscar wasn't always spooky, ya know"

They both looked at me in understanding. "Once Caesar is put in the only way he can get out, is death. The best thing for him is to lay low and not to cause attention to himself."

They nodded in agreement and asked what they wanted to eat. We had all agreed on burgers from the diner up the road. We started walking and of course my brother started talking. "It's so nice to have my big sister back" Jamal sighed.

"Why" I asked.

"Because you have money, and I don't" He smiles.

"Oh wow..I come back from the military and all my brother can worry about.... is my money" I fake cry. "At least Ruby loves me"

"Yes I do. Maybe you should only pay for me and let Jamal starve" Ruby jokes.

"I should" I rolled my eyes. "But I could never"

After that sentence I noticed a familiar red low rider slowly making its way down the street. Once it got towards us, it stopped. Spooky signals for me to come here. I took a step off the curb but the Jamal and Ruby yanked me back.

"What are you doing?!" Ruby whispered.

"I'm going to see what he wants" I answer.

"Don't speak to him! He's the whole reason we're scheming to get Caesar out of the gang!" Jamal stressed. "Plus he's intimidating"

"Oh trust me, I'm not scared of spooky" I chuckled. "I got this"

I made my way up to the window of the low rider and looked Oscar all up in his face.
"You're back home" He spoke.

I nodded and looked back at Jamal and Ruby, they looked like they were gonna shit themselves.

"You single mami" The guy in the passenger seat asked. I rolled my eyes and ignored him.

"Is there anything in particular that you wanted?" I asked Oscar.

He laughed, probably at how I completely ignored his buddy. "Yeah, party tonight at my house. Be there"

"And if I'm not?" I asked.

"I'll come get you" He said while looking me straight in my eyes.

I turned around and walked back to Ruby and Jamal. We continued walking to get food but they wouldn't leave me alone.

"What did he say?"

"Did he threaten to kill you?"

"Did you talk about Caesar?"

"Jamal. Ruby. Shut the fuck up" I groaned. "It's literally not that important, he just invited me to a party."

"You're not going, right?" Ruby asked.

"Of course she's not going!" Jamal exclaimed.

"Oh I'm going" I told them as I took a seat in the diner.

"WHAT?!" They both yelled. I pulled both of them down into their seats and covered their mouths.

"Look, he said if I didn't go, he'd come get me. So either way I have no choice" I took my hand of their mouths and opened my menu.

"Why would he personally invite you?" Jamal asked.

"Because Lani and spooky used to be best friends" Caesar says as he plops down in the seat next to Ruby.

"BEST FRIENDS!" Ruby shouted.

I shook my head at how loud these three were being. "Yes, the best of friends. I remember Lani being at the house all the time when I was little" Caesar reminisced.

"How could you be best friends with....well....THAT" Jamal shouted.

"Hey! In my defense, Oscar wasn't always spooky" I said. Just then the waiter came to us and took our order.

"You're paying for this right?" Caesar asked as he scraped the back of his head.

I sighed "Sure. Why not? Next it's gonna be 'Can you pay my tuition"
