As the bus jerked to a stop the seniors cheers and hoots got louder as they exited the bus for their last year. Gavin groaned, "Ugh." He leaned his head on my shoulder then rolled his eyes. I reached down do tie my brown combat boots laces and then I pulled on my ripped jeans so they looked more shredded. Jenna grabbed her black bag pulling back her wavy blonde hair. "C'mon guys it's time to get off. You'll be late!" Mr. Vinni, our bus driver said turning the bus off. "Okay." Gavin sighed. Jenna and Gavin stood up and walked off. I turned to the window and saw the autumn leaves falling off the big trees. The scene brought back memories of California. In California we didn't have a fall like this we had palm trees and hot summer days even when it was not summer. "Come on Rosie. You'll be late." Jenna said outside of the bus tapping my window. I smiled. "I know." And then I walked to homeroom.
In homeroom, we got our schedules which to me seemed ridiculous because 1. it was extremely confusing because we don't know what to bring to our first couple classes and 2. we can only stop at our lockers 3 times a day so it's completely inconvent. My homeroom was Mrs. Mackins, Gavin's mother who also teaches Language Arts. As I sat down next to Gavin, who by the way always sits in he front for no apparent reason. As the teacher passed around our schedules Gavin whispered to me, "Rose, do you think my mom would let me switch classes around?" I smirked. "Gavin, your mom doesn't even let you get away with tying your shoes in class." At Marchlin High we have very strict rules and one of them is "You Get What You Get And You Don't Get Upset." Infact it is the most cheesy rule because in Cali, that was our rule for kindergarten.
As Gavin's mom gave a schedule to Daniel Portoff Gavin whispered to me again, this time he was quick because he was next in line for schedule givings. "I heard that Addie Wood got to know her schedule early and change what she wanted because she hooked up with Mr. Bruce." Mr. Bruce was the twenty year old assistant principal and there was a rumor about him and Addison hooking up every Friday witch I found to be fake, partially because 1. Addie came home every Friday on the bus and 2. because I've spent some detentions with Mr.Bruce on Fridays for things I haven't even done. By the way.
I rolled my eyes at Gavin's comment. "Yeah right." I said as Gavin gave the air fist bumps. I guess his schedule was good. Just then Mrs. Mackins came to me. "Nice to see you, Mitchell." She said and then smiled. Mrs. Mackins was about 40 and was quite good looking. She has caramel hair and blue eyes-- just like Gavin and was tall and always wore a necklace. "You too." I smiled as she handed me my schedule.
