Distancing

I stared at the page as I sat on that stupid brown ugly ridiculously hard sofa. The first picture was me sitting with the band in that little pub, I didn't even see anyone take a picture. I was looking at Alex, a smile plastered across my face, it was stupid.

The second photo...When Alex walked me home. I looked so...happy? I swear the pictures have been photoshopped, it was all too weird.

The third? Worse. I was seen holding his hand when he took me back to his. Why was this happening?? I bet everyone at home are pissing themselves laughing at this two page spread of ME. You see these pages all the time in OK, and Look and other stupid magazines.

I pulled out my phone, Alex had text me.

'Seen it?' Was in on the blue background. I didn't reply, if I distanced myself all this would disappear and everyone will find another person to print about. I would be history soon, something new will come...I think.

Mission one: ignore Alex.

How? I don't know.

Why? I don't know.

I didn't know anything. Everything went hazy for a moment before, I realised I needed to be sick.

I bounded into the toilet to throw up, wow, I really wasn't expecting that.

I got my self a drink and sat helplessly on the sofa in silence for about an hour, sounds so lonely and depressing-which it was. I limply reached out for my phone and pulled up Aimee's number and called her.

"Sup" she panted as if she was a cool American dude.

"I was sick" I replied staring at the plain wall in the flat.

"What because you saw it?"

"I think so, unless I've got a freak sickness. This is whole situation is weird, I've sat for an hour staring at a wall"

"I know it's weird, my best friend is Alex Turners girlfriend!"

"I'm not this girlfriend" I growled.

"Okay, whatever. So why was you sick?" She chuckled.

"I don't know. I feel so odd"

"Flu?"

"Nope"

"Chickenpox?"

"No"

"The C"

"Probably not"

"The A"

"I don't have anxiety anymore!" I snapped before cutting off the call. How long could I deny it?
