The sky was clear, with the exception of a few clouds. Jets, which were known as Hawks, zipped through the air. Shrieks of laughter from the children reverberated through the air. Amongst the crowd, was a young girl and her mother.
"Mommy, which one is daddy?" She asked, bouncing up and down in her seat, as she clutched a balloon with one hand.
Pointing towards one of the Hawks in the air, she smiled. "See that blue one? That's daddy."
She laughed, waving at it. "Hi daddy!" Her father could not see her or hear her, as he was too concentrated on flying for the crowd.
"Some day, huh?" One of her father's mates said into his mouthpiece.
"Hell yeah, it is, Mike! Well, at least my daughter can be proud of her father- one of the best pilots!" He smirked.
"You bloody show-off!" Mike laughed, continuing their routine.
Her mother's phone began ringing.
"Stay here, mummy has to take this call," she said, tiptoing off.
The girl sat down by herself, applauding and laughing whenever her father performed a trick. Out of nowhere, he started swooping downwards, spiraling down, before he suddenly flew back into the clouds.
She screamed in joy, applauding as loud as she could. The string of her balloon slipped out of her grasp. "My balloon! She cried, watching as it slowly flew upwards. An ominous sound could be heard. Something large appeared above her balloon.
"What is that?" Mike asked, squinching his eyes to get a better view of the ship which had interrupted their show.
"I don't know, but it ain't looking pretty!" Her father yelled.
Out of the blue, the giant ship fired it's missile at MIke.
"Mike! Get out of the goddamn way!" Her father screamed to MIke, who was too stunned to move a muscle. It all happened in slow motion. The missile hit Mike's hawk, which proceeded to blow up in flames. The flaming ship started tanking towards the spectators. She watched as the hawk made its way towards her. Spectators screamed, dashing towards the exit.
Her mother dashed towards her, scooping her up, carrying her out of harm's way.
"Daddy!" She screamed, as tears welled up in her eyes. Her father remained still in the sky, cornered by the humongous ship. Then it all ended. Her father blew up, similar to the way Mike had died, and crashed into the stadium.
"Oh my god, this can't be happening..." Her mother whispered to herself, falling to her knees as she watched the hawk. A terribly scalded figure lay slumped in a seat, half its once familiar face ripped off.
