Tae pov

“SHIT TAEHYUNG, RUN!" cried a voice and pulled me out of my deep sleep.

It was in the middle of the night. . . hectically I threw my head around and tried to realize what had happened.

“DAMN IT, RUN!" the voice shouted again, getting me out of my paralysis.

Immediately, I jumped out of my bed, ran to the door and pulled it open.

A torrent of unbearable heat came towards me.

Shocked, I stared at the flames, which mercilessly climbed along the corridor and moved towards my room.

Completely panicked, I began to hyperventilate. What to the hell am I gonna do now? The way down is on fire. . .

The fire took away any opportunity for me to think further, so I slammed the door and sprinted to the window.

. . . crap! My room was on the first floor and since there was a paved path under my window, I knew that I would carry wounds from it.

But everything was better than burning in agony. A quick look over my shoulder, made me jump. The flames had already reached my door.

My pulse suddenly increased and the adrenaline, which was pumping through my veins, took away my anxiety for a moment. . . . I jumped. . .

Almost as if in slow motion, I fell down the floor before slamming on the stones.

I screamed in pain and had to suppress a few tears.

I tried to ignore the pain that was really strong despite my blood, which was almost like an energy drink.

However, I had to circulate. I couldn't just let the others die. I fought my way trembling on my legs.

When I stood up and a look at my slapped knees dared I hissed again.

They were bleeding heavily and my hands were hardly usable either. But I didn't care. I had to ignore that pain.

Soaked, I wondered if there was another way in. There had to be one. . .

I could no longer prevent the flow of my tears, this situation was more than pure horror.

“TAEHYUNG?!" suddenly a voice called out, followed by louder steps.

“Oh my god Tae, you're alive.” Jimin said relieved and dropped to my knees. Tears had also formed in his eyes.

“Where have you been and where is my sister? I can't let her die!"

Their desperate cries roared in my head.
Screams for help and through the agony she's suffered.

"Out of pure chance i was downstairs to get myself something to drink. When the fire started i had no way of getting back... your sister was missing without a trace." He bearly managed to confess. He seemed to crumble under the burden.

“I'm so sorry." he said quietly and pulled me into a hug.
“NO! I'll get her out of there! I swore to never leave her alone!"

This was the moment when all my walls broke and I started crying.
I had to think of the night. We were camping when my little sister crawled into my sleeping bag.

She was so afraid of the monsters she had seen.
I had pulled her into my arms and snuggled her into my sleeping bag.
I could still feel her tender breath now on my chest.

I swore to her I'd never leave her alone.
I promised her safety.

The little creature, which had cuddled up in my sweater looking for help and trusting me.
