chapter 18

Alison’s POV

When I woke up it was 7 o’clock. Hanna, Emily and I lay on the couch and Spencer and Aria lay on the ground asleep in each other’s arms. I grinned and looked at Emily. She was still asleep in my arms. I smiled and stroke her cheek. She slowly opened her eyes.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.” I whispered and smiled at her.

“That’s okay.” She whispered back, leaned in and kissed me.

“Look at Spencer and Aria.” I said with a grin on my face. She looked and chuckled.

“That’s cute.” She said and giggled that made Hanna wake up.

“Ugh, what time is it?” she whispered tired.

“7 o’clock.” I answered and smiled.

“Hey Han, check Spence and Aria.” Emily said and had a huge grin on her face.

Hanna looked and grinned too.

“I guess you two aren’t the only lesbians here anymore.” She said with a sarcastic voice. I laughed softly and smiled.

“True.” Emily said and laughed too.

“Hey Aria!” Hanna suddenly yelled which made Aria and Spencer wake up shocked.

“Are you guys comfortable there?” Emily asked and chuckled. Aria looked at her and then she and Spencer noticed they were cuddled up with each other.

“Hey, don’t judge. You and Alison are lying there in each other’s arms too.” Spencer told Emily defensively, who now woke up too.

“True but we’re a couple and as far as we know you aren’t.” I said and smirked.

“Don’t you guys both have boyfriends?” Hanna asked grinning.

“We do and we aren’t a couple.” Aria said and glanced at Spencer.

“Why are you guys still in each other’s arms then?” Emily asked and Spencer and Aria quickly let go of each other.

“Um…” Spencer said uncomfortably.

“Wow a question Spencer Hastings can’t answer. Interesting.” Emily said smiling.

I pulled her a little closer and rested my head on her shoulder. She smiled and played with my hair. Suddenly the doorbell rang. “I’ll get it.” Emily said and she stood up to get the door. When she opened it I heard a voice I didn’t know say; “Emily.”

I heard Emily gasp loudly.

“Maya?” she said and the girls all stared at each other in disbelieve.

“Isn’t Maya her dead ex-girlfriend?” I asked shocked. The girls nodded and Hanna grabbed my arm before I could get up.

“Just leave them for a minute.” She said and I nodded but I wasn’t happy with the idea of her first girlfriend being around again. That’s hard competition.

Emily’s POV

When I opened the door I was stunned. It was Maya, My first girlfriend. This can’t be. She is dead! “Maya.” I said and gasped.

“Hi.” She said and smiled. I stared in her beautiful eyes.

“How are- how did you know- Aren’t you dead?” I managed to bring out. She grinned.

Why is she grinning? This isn’t funny! “Stop grinning, this isn’t funny Maya!” I added.

“Sorry.” She quickly said and looked nervous now. “I’m not dead, no. I’m right here.” She said nervously. I was still staring at her and then pulled her into a hug.

“Oh my god.” I whispered and held her tight. “It’s you…” I added. I pulled her outside and closed the door behind me. I sat down on the porch and she sat down next to me. “How did you know I was here?” I asked and looked at her. She smiled.

“Your mom told me.” She answered and put a hand on my leg.

“Maya… where were you?” I asked with a tear running down my cheek. “I thought you were dead. It took me so long to get over you.” I whispered.

“I-I couldn’t come home. Lyndon threatened to hurt you.” Maya said. She wiped my tear away. “Don’t cry.” She whispered. Then the door opened and Hanna was standing there.

“Hanna. Guess who’s back too.” I said and looked at Hanna.

“Yeah we heard. Maybe you should introduce her to Alison, the other dead girl who came back. AKA your girlfriend.” she said sarcastically, probably to remind me.

“Um yeah okay. Come on Maya.” I said and took her inside.

“Alison, this is Maya. My ex-girlfriend. Maya, this is Alison. My girlfriend.” I said uncomfortably. Maya inhaled deeply and then said;

“Nice to meet you, Alison.” You could hear that she wasn’t really happy.

“Nice to meet you too, Maya.” Alison said and she stood up. She wasn’t really happy with this either. There was an awkward silence.

“Great that you’re back, Maya.” Aria suddenly said and smiled.

“Yes exactly.” Spencer said and smiled too.

“Thanks Aria and Spencer. I’ve missed all of you.” Maya replied.

“We missed you too.” I said and smiled at her. She smiled back sweetly.

“Do you guys want some coffee?” Alison asked and tried to smile.

“Yes, thanks babe.” I said and smiled at her. Everyone nodded too and Alison went to make it. Hanna followed her to help. I gestured for Maya to sit down.

“You’re going to have to explain everything that happened, you know that right?” I said and looked at her. She swallowed hardly and nodded.

“Yes, I know. And I will.” She said and smiled. I nodded and waited for Alison to return with the coffee. I’m going to need a lot of caffeine today.
