It's silent, peaceful. No background noises, no people or animals around. It's silent. So silent I feel like I'm the only person in the world. This is how I start every morning.
Being an only child with a late mother, the house tends to be quite timid. The mornings are special though. It just me and my thoughts. I wish I could just sit here, in my room, with the silence and my thoughts but, I can't. I have school, friends and a father waiting on me.
It's my senior year and I still have no idea where I want to make my mark on the world. I feel like nothing I do could ever be significant, since the world I live in, is already unique. I'm just a regular human girl in a world roaming with werewolves and witches. I don't think there is anything I could do that is more fascinating then what they can accomplish.
What I can accomplish though is waking up, going to school, be a friend, best friend and daughter. With this thought in mind I pull myself out of bed, away from the silence, and get ready.
My father, Marco Testa, is the mayor of my hometown, GreenHill. He doesn't go into work until 8:00 in the morning so I don't see him until after school.
I quietly exit the house as fast as I can. Soon I'm in my car driving to GreenHill High School. My last first day of school. This year should be a breeze since I'm applying to colleges with my GPA from last year. All I have to do is make it graduation. It can't be that hard. I hope.

"Welcome to 12th grade english. I hope you all had a good summer break!" I try my best to listen to my teacher but I can't contain my excitement. Once this class is over I will finally have lunch break, where I'll see my best friend, Alexa.
She was away at her grandparents house for the last month of summer, but it feels like it's been forever. Alexa and I have been friends for as long as I can remember. Our dads both grew up in GreenHill together and decided to stay. With the friendship between our families, we were destined to be best friends.
The bell takes me away from my thoughts and I quickly gather my things. Pushing through the hundreds of rushing students, I manage to make it to the cafe. We are allowed to eat off campus but Alexa and I try to limit going out to two times a week, it's easier and cheaper.
It doesn't take me long to spot Alexa. Her shoulder length, bright blond hair was hard to miss, especially when she is waving her arms at me like a maniac. I laugh to myself as I quickly make my way towards her. Before I could get a word out she is crushing me with her embrace.
"I missed you too, Alexa but not as much as I miss breathing right now." She takes the hint and reluctantly lets me go. "Sorry! I'm just so excited to see you again." Alexa said with a wide smile.
I shake my head at her while laughing, "Please I'm sure I missed you more since you were soaking in the sun down in florida, while I was finishing my summer assignment." I argued. "Well yeah, but the plane ride from Maine to Florida is so long." I looked at her in disbelief, "Three hours is not long!"
Laughing we both sit down and take out our lunches. We both make our lunch at home, we don't trust school food. While we eat, Alexa tells me about how her visit to her grandparents are and I just complain about how lonely I was.
Suddenly Alexas face became serious. "What's wrong?" I questioned her sudden change in demeanor. Looking around to see if anyone was watching, she moved closer to me. "Did you talk to your dad this morning?" she whispered in my ear. That's a strange question. "Um, no. He is sleeping when I leave, why?" My mind starts going to all different scenarios. Am I adopted? Did my dad commit a crime? Is Alexa having an affair with my Dad? I mean what could Alexa possibly be whispering about that has to do with my dad.
She looked me in the eyes and I could see that she was scared about what she is going to tell me. "The Black Moon Pack is coming back to town. Well, the Inner Pack really." Alexa stated.
What?! I'm used to be around regular werewolves from that pack but not the inner pack. I mean some of the werewolves even go to school with me. The inner pack hasn't been in town since I was 7 years old.
The Black Moon Pack is well known, not only because of their strength but because of their leaders. Of course, the packs main leader is their Alpha, but he has a close-knit group of friends with high ranks. It is said that the four friends bond is so strong, it is like they are their own pack, hence why they are called the Inner Pack.
I don't know how to feel about this. I don't have a problem with werewolves, I never have. I'm actually really fascinated by them but never got to become close with a single wolf because my father despises them. I wonder if things will change with them back in town. From the stories I've heard, they're powerful, aggressive wolves that you are advised to stay away from.
All of them are strong in their own unique way. Trevor Axel, is considered to be the fastest wolf in the world. I haven't heard anything terrible about him actually. It is said that his role in the pack is similar to being a trustee. Charlie Kingsway, is extremely smart and has studied copious amounts of fighting styles, this gave him the role as Delta, training the warriors of the pack. Then there's Silver Middleton, she is the last of the Arctic Wolves, they're extremely powerful and aggressive, apparently a war started to extinct them but Silver survived. Now she is the Beta, second hand to the Black Moon Pack. Finally, Damien Black, Alpha to the Black Moon Pack. He came from a very powerful blood line, and has successfully brought and kept the pack as one of the strongest packs in the world for the past 150 years. He is said to be one of the strongest and best Alphas ever seen. I can't help but feel terrified of all them.
"Are you sure? I mean who told you?" I question Alexa with worried eyes. She slowly nodded her head, "Yes, my dad told me last night. They could arrive at anytime this week, even today." I took a deep breathe, never in a million years did I think I would still be here when they came back. This won't affect my senior year, right?
