Marinette's PoV
The sun was shining, the air was crisp, I was perfectly on time for school, and Adrien, the Adrien Agreste, had invited me out for lunch, well technically me, Alya and Nino, but still, the day was amazing, nothing could ruin my mood, not even the she-devil herself- "Hey Maritrash!"- Okay, maybe Chloe could.
"Yes, Chloe?" I sighed, just as my ladybug luck had been kicking in, she had to appear.
"Why were you talking to my Adrikins!"
"Chloe, he's not yours"
"What would you know, you filthy piece of trash, Adrien loves me, I don't know why he would even think to look at you, you're a nobody in his eyes, hell probably even your geeky friend agrees, you're just a nobody through her eyes, she's just being nice hanging out with you!"
"Chloe, that's enough!" I shouted, she was going to far
"Don't speak to me peasant! I don't get why you even try to talk to Adrien, you act so desperate, it's like you have a crush on him!" Looking back on it, I realise staying silent was the worst mistake I could have made, A look of disbelief crossed her face,
"Oh my god, you have a crush on him, ha! Like he could ever return those feelings, I doubt he even notices you, you're a goody two-shoes who's to scared to take risks, you hesitate with anything you do, your hopeless stutter is pathetic, seriously all you do is try to please people, you're fake, tell me, when was the last time you acted like yourself, huh? See, this facade of yours is just that, a facade. When was the last time you were genuine? It's so pathetic, if you have to be a two faced, at least try to make one of them pretty!" Blinking back tears, I realised she had a point, and her words stung more than I cared to admit, and then it hit me, maybe, maybe Chloe has a point, if Alya or Nino are my true friends they'll love me just as much if I show my true colours.
I spun on my heel, leaving Chloe staring after me in shock and confusion.
One day of school didn't matter when it came to a shopping trip!
