The Truth

After Lore was taken to Sickbay a scan of the ship's interior showed that Data was no longer aboard the Enterprise. Where he is and how he has gotten off the Enterprise is a mystery. Lore has a few minor injuries and a serious head injury, but no permanent damage and was unconscious.

Data was on Omicron Theta and saw that the crystals had started to grow on his shoulders. He thought about how everyone must be mad at him for harming or possibly killing his own brother and the crystals grew. Data cried golden tears and started running, not sure where he was going or how long he would go, he just wanted to run. Then the thought of what he might do to the baby came up. What if when the baby is born he accidentally harms him or her? He stopped running and collapsed from exhaustion, he drift to sleep unaware that the crystals on his body had continued to grow.

Meanwhile on the Enterprise Lore woke up and requested to see the captain.

"Councilor Troi said that you have been keeping something from us?" Picard asked.

"Yes, I was aware that Data was pregnant before Dr. Crusher found out." Lore answered.

"How did you know that he was pregnant?" He asked.

"Because I have once been pregnant as well." Lore answered.

Will was in his quarters thinking about Data. Was he alright or was he hurt? Where did he go? And how did he get there?

His heart ached and he wished that he had managed to stop Data from leaving. Will couldn't stop thinking about him.

Was Data still alive?

Will he ever see him again?

Data woke up and saw that his hands were now made of crystal and the crystals on his shoulders had torn through his Star Fleet uniform. He examined his hands and accidentally cut himself. The purple blood dropped to the ground and he continued walking still unsure where he was going, that is if he had anywhere to go at all.

Back on the Enterprise what happened to the colonists had become clear after Lore explained what happened.

He had found a way to communicate with the Crystalline Entity and discovered that it could shape shift and had taken male human form. The colonists found a alternative food source and they were able to coexist with him but one of the colonists believed that he would go back to consuming living things. The colonist's name was Galek and he had also grew to fear Dr. Soong's creations because they had the same abilities the Crystalline Entity had. Lore became pregnant with the Crystalline Entity's child and Galek kidnapped him and performed a illegal abortion on him. Lore tried to kill Galek but he escaped. Lore was unable to save his newborn son and he died in his arms. The other colonists found him and nursed him back to health.

But he was grieving the loss of his child and had become suicidal. Lore told them to disable him and they did. B4 and Meriposa asked to be disabled too. After they were disabled, Galek triggered the alarms and hacked the computer then killed the colonists.

A few colonists were on a ship that was searching for Galek and Dr. Soong and his wife were among them.

"Since you know the truth I can tell the ship that they can uncloak." Meriposa said as she peeled a small amount of her skin and pressed a few buttons.

"There has been a ship cloaked near the Enterprise?" Tasha asked.

"Yes, but this ship was never a threat to the crew and is much smaller than the Enterprise." She answered.

Then a Romulan science vessel uncloaked next to the Enterprise. The ship showed signs that the ship has been through several kinds of anomalies that have damaged it. There were only twenty people aboard. Then the ship hailed them.

"On screen." Capitan Picard said.

On the screen appeared a young Romulan man.

"My name is Drakon and there are people aboard who need medical attention." He said.

"This is caption Jon Luc Picard and we will beam aboard your wounded right away." He replied.

They beamed the wounded aboard and the doctors were surprised that the crew were a number of different species. There were six wounded, four of them were Cardassion and the rest were Romulan. After taking a look at the wounded crew and talking to Dr. Noonian Soong and his wife Picard discovered that there are a lot of things that Data is capable of.

"After B4 was successful I decided to make Androids with animal form. Lore was originally a snake but he somehow evolved into a man." Noonian explained to Dr. Crusher.

"Did Data and Meriposa start out as animals as well and later evolved?" She asked.

"Yes, Meriposa was a wolf and Data was a raven." His wife answered. "We still don't know why they evolved and  neither do they."

"If they are still evolving, what will happen to Data?" Dr. Crusher asked.

"For all we know, anything." Noonian answered.

Data had been walking for three days, nine hours, and fourteen minutes but it felt like he had been walking for months. Crystals had begun to grow on his back and elbows, which tore holes into his Star Fleet uniform. He didn't know what to do, he couldn't go back to the Enterprise and he can't just keep wandering around aimlessly. Data wondered if his siblings were angry at him for what happened to Lore.

Was Lore even still alive or had he killed him?

Data cried as the crystals on his body grew. His uniform ripped and tore as his body became more like a large moving crystal. Data saw his reflection on the surface of a glass shard and gasped. His face had started growing crystals and more were appearing.

What was happening to him?

Was he turning into a beast?

Data cried as it began to rain.

Almost four days have passed since Data was on board the Enterprise and the scientists from Omicron Theta have helped with the search. Geordi was performing a long range scan and found a trail of crystal particles that started at the exact position Data was when he disappeared from the ship.

"Captain, I think I may have found a way to find Data." Geordi said. "Looks like the crystal shards that were used in his construction have left a trail of crystal particles."

They followed the crystal particle trail that Data unconsciously left behind. The trail led them all the way to Omicron Theta where he was first found.

"So this is where you've been." Will said under his breath as he looked at Omicron Theta.

"Captain there are multiple life signs." Tasha said.

"What?" Picard asked.

"I don't sense any other minds besides Data's on the planet's surface." Troi said.

They sent a away team down to where the life signs were detected. To their surprise plants had started growing in the once lifeless soil. They scanned the plants and found that Data's blood had triggered the sudden growth of the plants.

"I thought that it would take years for anything to grow here." Will said.

"Apparently some kind of chemical in Data's blood has quite literally brought life to the planet, there are already hundreds of microscopic life forms in the soil." Dr. Crusher replied.

"Could this have anything to do with the fact that Dr. Soong used small parts of the Crystalline Entity in Data's construction?" Geordi asked.

"Yes, it does make some sense although most of what I have found out about Androids breaks half of the laws of physics." Dr. Crusher answered.

They found a trial of small flowers that led to a cave.
