"Today the small family that had been murdered, has been found to be by a young man by the name of Trent Day." I tried to change the news channel to something else, before they said his name but I couldn't get to the remote fast enough. A tear ran down my face as soon as his name was said. The thought of him and the thought of this situation would be heard by everyone, on this stupid news channel, in all different houses and restaurants, everywhere, forced more tears down my face.
7 Years Ago... Junior Year of High School
"Stop! You're gonna get us in trouble!" I tried to say through my laughter. But he didn't listen and kept riding that stupid skate board, down the hall. We walk to school together and were late once again so he decided to stay on his skateboard as we went into the school. "It will be-" his sentence was cut off by the skateboard flying from underneath him and going all the way down the hallway. Thankfully, or maybe not so thankfully, I was right behind him, to at least try to catch him but failing. He's a football player and no one would have a chance trying to catch him. Crash. The next thing I know, I'm being crushed on the floor as a teacher looked down at us holding the skateboard.
"Thanks for that!" I yell, walking to second period, after being yelled at by a teacher and we walk different ways. All he does is laugh and I smile as I turn around to see the new girl, Maggie, that is in basically all my classes and I've became close friends with, at her locker. "Hey! Who was that?" She asked, closing her locker. "My best friend... Trent Day."
