Fresh woke up with a start, sweating and panting. He held his head, rubbing his eyes. He sighed heavily. He had been having that nightmare again, reliving his mother's death. He leaned over and grabbed his glasses, shoving them on his face. He got out of bed and got dressed, yawning wildly.
Fresh went down stairs, seeing his father making breakfast as always. Fresh didn't see him as a bad person, as most people would if they saw him killing their mom. Fresh thought he was quite nice, actually. Fresh just wish he knew why he killed his mom. Their relationship was not perfect, and they had arguments that were still stained into Fresh's memory, where as Kaden only stayed because he was so close to Fresh, but Fresh that he had no idea to kill her.
Fresh yawned a third time and Kaden smiled at him. "Mornin', son!" He chirps happily, he rarely ever called Fresh by his name. "Ready for school?"
"Remind again why I can't stay homeschooled?" Fresh groans.
He had been homeschooled ever since his mom had died, just so Kaden knew for sure that Fresh wouldn't say a peep about anything to anyone. This made Fresh a pretty heavy introvert, and kind of spoiled. He had three friends, Alphys, that he met online. Luckily, she lived nearby and went to the same high school he was going to, UnderHigh. Jessy, his neighbor, who Fresh barely considers his friend, they just come over when Jessy's parents are talking to Kaden and they played with legos and draw together, but that's really it. Fresh doesn't even know Jessy's gender, and Jessy insists that they don't know either, but Fresh is sure they're a girl. And Paige. Fresh knew that Paige was his friend. He had stopped taking therapy, but she still came over to check that Fresh was okay mentally wise.
Kaden frowned. "Son, you've been homeschooled for five years and you need more friends," now it was Fresh's turn to frown. "And I dropped highschool, remember? I'm an idiot, and you're smarter than me, and you're fifteen. Now eat your breakfast, you don't want to be late for your first day!"
***
Fresh stared around the school. It seemed so big. He felt queasy even looking at it, and he really just wanted to go back home. Kaden nudged Fresh forward, whispering a small pep talk in his ear, seeing the look on his face. Fresh stared around hopelessly for Alphys, wanting a friend who actually knows what their doing to show him around. Kaden gave Fresh another nudge before going back into his car, yelling out embarrassing things that all cliche parents say. Fresh whimpered, his stomach fluttering and flipping.
A loud screeee came a little ways behind from Fresh, and scared the living daylights out of Fresh. He whipped around and noted that that was a bus ramp. The doors swung open and several intimidating looking people crowded over each other to get out first. Fresh back away, staring up at them, murmuring, "Pardon...."
The tallest one, a black one with an inky blotch floating out a part of his head and with mis match eyes looked down at him and smirked. Fresh stumbled backwards, his eyes wide as the person yells out, "'Ey! Undyne! Check this out, I think it's the new nerd! HA!" Fresh flinched, scooting farther away. "Pr'olly lookin' for Alphys, huh?!" Pj had leaned down, smirking maliciously as Fresh backed himself into a tree, petrified.
Fresh suddenly darted to the side, away from the skeleton. He could hear him snarling angrily, and heavy footsteps pursued him. This is why Fresh would rather have stayed homeschooled. So he wouldn't be chased by someone legit twice his size and strength. Well, maybe not that specific, but, still.
"AaaAAAAHHHHHH,-" Fresh sprang into the school, slamming face first into a teacher. He fell backwards, his glasses luckily not having broken. The gang of people skirted to a stop, seeing the teacher. He was quite tall and a white boned skeleton with similar eyes to the jock Fresh had met. He had an ink stain on the side of his cheek and a dopey grin. He looked down on Fresh and Fresh looked up. Why was everybody so tall?!
"Hello! Are you the new student?" He asked. Fresh stared wide-eyed at him. Fresh nodded a tiny bit, surprised at how fast he could go from running for his life to talking to a suspiciously nice teacher. "Oh, where are my manners, my name is Mr. Ink! You aren't allowed to run in school, but, you've been homeschooled for most of you're life so I can't blame you! I'll take you to the office to get your schedule!" Ink grabbed his wrist in a motherly way, dragging him to an intimidating office with..a dog sitting there in the front desk? Fresh stiffled a laugh at the dorky dog that looked like it had no place in an intimidating office like this. A smaller dog-ish creature with an even dorkier face came up to them.
"HoI!!1! I'm Temmie, u look for schedule, yah yah?" Temmie asks, and Fresh nods a bit. Temmie squeals and runs away, coming back with a schedule. "There you goez! Bai b1e!"
Fresh thanks her and walks off with Ink, gazing at his schedule.

[A/N: I'm sorry if the schedule isn't accurate for a sophomore (Fresh skipped a grade), I'm not in High School, though I tried to make it as accurate as possible, forgive me if it is not accurate]
