Eli’s POV
I scurried ahead in the tunnel until I hit something. It couldn’t be seen due to the darkness, so I tried to figure out what it was as the eerie red glow of Andy’s eyes grew closer.
Feeling around on this mysterious thing in front of me, I could hear Andy say something to the effect of, ‘I’m going to find you and when I do, I’m going to rip your guts out’. Just lovely.
Whatever was in front of me was made of wood. The only reason that I knew that was because of the elegant detailing I felt. It’s a door! I found a doorknob and turned it. Nothing.
I turned around to see if Andy was near me, and I could see his eyes. Glowing like two light bulbs in his face.
Victoria’s POV
“No. Andy would never do that,” I said in disbelief as Jack and I made our way out of the middle building, back into the Hunters’ side.
“That’s his panic mechanism. If he feels threatened by you for any reason, he’ll hurt you,” Jack paused. “Do you know why Drew did this to me?”
I shook my head. “He never talks to anyone about his family. The only reason I know you is because we met at one of his birthday parties, and because of here.”
“His dad was helping me train, and Drew walked in as I was throwing knives at him. You do know we’re not blood related, right?” I shook my head again. “Well we aren’t. We just consider each other cousins because it’s easier to say then my mom’s ex-boyfriend’s friend’s sister’s son. But anyway, his family is pure, meaning that everyone in his family has had the same ability, all the way back to the start of his family. The funny part is that their power is the most common power in the world, so it’s not really that hard.”
“Alright enough about everything that really doesn’t matter in life, and just get back to your story,” I said with a smirk on my face.
He glared at me and resumed the story. “So there was no possible way that I could hurt his father while he was paying attention. And when Drew walked in, I guessed that he thought I was trying to kill his father, but I really wasn’t. As soon as I figured out he put me here, I knew that that was exactly what he thought.” Jack must’ve been so close with Andy, and I saw the pain written on his face when he was telling me about it. It looked like he felt the same way I feel now. We started walking back to our rooms in silence, until I saw something glimmering on the floor.
