"So how old are you?" Eleanor asks me in the middle of our conversation.
"Almost 14," I reply.
"That's nice. You're a very beautiful girl, especially for your age," Danielle compliments. I blush.
"Thank you," I respond.
"Do you feel that way about yourself?" Eleanor asks me, hugging her pillow closer to her. I shake my head in response.
"Why not?" Danielle asks.
"Bullies," I say simply. Danielle and Eleanor look at each other and then at me.
"You know what I think?" El inquires.
"No. What?" I ask in response.
"I think you're joining the 1D girlfriend club soon," she replies. I laugh drily. I doubt it.
We get off that topic and an hour or so later, Louis enters the room to come get me, but not before giving a kiss to his girlfriend. She grins as he pulls away and snorts like a pig. He clucks like a chicken and brings me back to their room.
"What was that?" I ask Lou as he shuts the door to the room.
"How El and I act," he replies. I roll my eyes and plop myself down next to Zayn on the couch.
"So how did the signing go?" I ask.
"Wonderful. Just ask Harry," Niall replies, gesturing his head to Haz. I turn and laugh a bit.
He has red lipstick smeared all over his face and scratch marks on his neck. He glares at me.
"Yes. It was great until secuirty accidentally let those five girls in to attack me," he grumbles. I click my tongue and walk over to him, snatching the wet rag out of his hand.
"Let me do it. You're way too slow," I lecture, rubbing the lipstick off his face and neck. I notice his lips are red too. For some reason, I feel rage consume me and angrily wipe that off.
"Ow!" he yelps, rubbing his clean lips. I frown.
"Sorry, Haz. It wouldn't come off. Anything I can do to make it better?" I ask sort of teasingly.
"Something soft," he mutters. My heart starts to race. Something soft: Like... lips?
Without thinking, I shove a blanket against his face. His eyes grow wide and he pulls it off. I give him an embarrassed grin while Niall and Zayn howl with laughter.
"That... wasn't what I was thinking," he replies, looking back at me. I shrug.
"Well, it's soft," I reply. He sighs and goes over to ttake my place next to Zayn.
"So what did you girls talk about?" Liam questions.
"Stuff. Turtles, bunnies, dancing, me, bul-" I cut myself by turning around and crawling under the covers. "I'm going to sleep," I announce.
(Harry's P.O.V.)
I look over at Louis. Well, that was weird.
Bull? No, she was going to same more than bull. Bull... Bullies?
"What do you think she was going to say?" Zayn asks. I open my mouth to reply.
"Bullies," Niall cuts in with a monotone voice. I look back at him. He turns to look out the window.
"Is she bullied?" I wonder aloud. Liam shrugs.
"I'd ask Danielle, but... I don't think Maddy would want us to know," he replies.
"Probably not," Zayn sighs. I look between the two.
"Well, I, for one, want to know!" I exclaim. Everyone looks at me.
"You do?" Louis asks. I nod.
"Yeah. No one deserves to be bullied like that," I respond. Everyone nods and we head over to Danielle and Eleanor's room and ask about it.
Sure enough, Niall and I are right. She is bullied.
The girls tell us the details. One thing Eleanor tells me stands out and hurts the most.
"She's used to it," Eleanor tells us.
"No one should say that they're used to being beat down like that," I reply.
"I told her that she was beautiful," Danielle offers.
"And?" Zayn presses. Dani sighs.
"She didn't believe me."
I jump up. That's it. The final straw has been broken. I go back to our room and pause right outside the door. I shush the other boys who followed me. Why?
Crying. Sobbing.
She's crying.
I tiptoe in and sneak up behind her. Yes, she is. Her shoulders are shaking and her hands are trembling. She's full on bawling her eyes out. I want to do something. I hate it when girls cry.
Niall reaches out and holds her close to him. She pauses at first, unsure of what to do. She certainly didn't expect this. When she realizes what's going on, she wraps her arms around him and cries into his shirt. He rests his head in the crook of her neck and she grabs the back of his shirt tight.
I sigh and wait for him to let go. Liam's turn. Then Zayn's. Then Louis. Before it's my turn to hug her and reassure her, she goes limp in Lou's arms, unconscious from sleep. He gently lays her down and covers her with a blanket.
We all go and sit on the couches to watch TV while we wait for fatigue to come over us as well.
