Damon's POV
Graham stands silently for a minute, biting his fingernails. He's got that old fender strapped around his shoulder as he wobbles a bit. God... He's so delicate."Um-" Graham looks up at me, and I'm caught staring at him. He blushes for a moment and continues, "like what?"
"Anything you want, Gray," I smile, casually slipping in one of the nicknames I thought of for Graham.
Graham's eyebrows knit together, "and who's Gray?"
"You- who else would it be?"
"Hm.." Graham ponders, "I've never really had a nickname before... I uh.. anyways," Graham moves on, biting his lip, "I'll uh, I'll play the Kinks..."
I compliment Graham on the nice choice in music. He fiddles around with the guitar for a bit, getting a feel for it, I suppose. He clears his throat and begins playing "You Really Got Me"
I hum along as he plays the interlude, and when he gets to the official beginning I can't help but sing along. Graham looks up from his guitar on instinct; then softly smiles at me as I sing and he plays. Graham smirks and makes the tune all dirty... but in a good way? It's just more angry and distorted. I go along with his rift and sing in a scratchy voice. Graham laughs and starts jumping. I laugh and jump up with him, dancing and thrashing beside him.
Graham really frayed up the end and I yelled "YOU REALLY GOT ME! YOU REALLY GOT ME! YOU REALLY GOT ME!" and fall on the floor. Graham giggles and takes the fender off, falling beside me. We breath heavily for a few minutes.
"That was wicked," I breath out, turning to smile at Graham.
Graham looks over and softly smiles back.
The bell rings, and our moment is over. Graham and I sit up and just wait for everyone to start loading in the class.
Our classmates rush in, as does the teacher. Graham and I don't bother moving. Everyone fills in their seats and the teacher begins talking, "Today I don't have anything planned, if I'm going to be quite frank. Free day for now, I'll have something planned for tomorrow"
Graham and I look at each other with relief. Graham scoots and leans against the piano. I joined him and we talk for awhile. We talk of musicians, songs, and instruments. Graham is seemingly obsessed with all art.
After class-
I walk Graham to his locker as he grabs any textbooks he may need for homework tonight. When Graham gets to his locker I simply stare at the ground smiling. It feels good to have a close mate to go class to class with. And Graham is so cute, god, it's lovely being around him.
Graham giggles and my heart melts, "What are you smiling for?"
I look up at Graham, thinking of something to say that won't make me sound like a proper poof.
"I've had an alright day," I say nonchalantly. Graham pats me on the back and congratulates me on my good day, causing me to laugh.
We walk to gym when Graham's got everything. One more hour in this dump and then freedom.
We enter the locker rooms and I grab my shorts and t-shirt out of my locker. Graham does the same behind me. We get dressed in silence with the rest of the class.
