Althea's POV-

Beep..... beep.... beep.....

I groaned rolling over in my bed, turning the alarm off. That damn thing never fails to ruin my precious sleep. Every morning. I sighed and sat up, rubbed my eyes and stretched my heavily tired limbs. Before going to the bathroom I walked over to my window and pulled the curtains apart and opened the windows, letting the cool Valencia breeze enter along with the bright rays.

"Morning dad" I whispered lightly to the sky, hoping he would somehow hear me.

I walked through my closet and pulled over a white button up shirt along with a pair of black professional trousers with a black blazer and some black flats to finish it off. I know, I know, it's not professional and all to wear flats to work and don't get me wrong or anything, I like- okay who am I kidding I hate heels I mean they are just straight torture. I absolutely can't wear them without breaking my ankle or well my skull. Don't ask.

And plus, being the CEO is an advantage, I can wear whatever I want. It covers up the the fact that I'm unconventionally lazy. Yeah, don't judge.

After putting on my watch and taking my bag, I descended the stairs. I saw my mother and my sister already at the table eating breaking while talking happily.

Gee, how in the world of skittles are people so happy and chirpy in the morning?!

Mom was the first to look up, " I see you have woken up Althea, I was just going to send someone to wake you up." I just rolled my eyes with a faint smile but nevertheless gave her a side hug and said "Good morning mum"

"Good morning Bella" I said turning my attention to her, who was distinctly very happy. huh.

"Good morning Allie, I'm done with the designs that you wanted, for the new project" She chirped while giving me a quick hug.

Bella, my sister, my best friend works as the head designer in my company, Arius & Co.

Arius is my father's name, he passed away when I was 21, we were told that he got into an accident in the company's factory which is being demolished currently, anyways it was the year after he handed over the company to me. It's been three years but I still miss him. Dearly.

Mom and Bella got over his death pretty quick which was very strange but I decided not to question it.

"Send them to my office as soon as you reach" I said and walked into the kitchen and saw Amelia, our housekeeper but she is like my second mother. "Good morning Lia." She turned and flashed me a kind smile, handing me a plate of pure heaven "Good morning hun, here you go."

I thanked her and sat down at the table. Mother and Bella were still talking about something about an annual ball or something which will take place in about two months or so, while I was quietly gobbling the stack of pure bliss called pancakes. Mhm. Hi i'm Althea Adams and I'm married to food and sleep.

"I'm leaving, I have a meeting" I called out as I placed my plate in in kitchen.

"I'll leave in about 30, bye" Arabella said. Mother was also saying something but I was already out by the time. Don't get me wrong, I love her dearly and I know she does too but sometimes I just can't take her nags and taunts.

I got in my car and started the engine and made my way to the office.

I walked in the building, everyone stood up and wished me a good morning, I simply replied back or smiled in return.

The rest of the day was gone in a blur, we got another deal and so everyone was busy on either the new project or the previous.

It was around 10 p.m and I was done with my work, I closed my laptop and packed my things and was just about to leave when my phone started ringing. A small smile made it's way to my face as I read who it was.

"Hey babe" My boyfriend of five years said on the other line. I chuckled lightly. What's up with everyone being so happy and chirpy today? Or is it just me? Nah..

"Hey Parker, what's up?" I said as I started packing my things.

"Nothing much, just wanted to tell you that I'm taking you out. Meet me near the demolition site, the one near the church, where we first kissed" I bet a thousand bucks that he is smirking right now.

"Alright, I'll meet you there in thirty. Love you."I chuckled  with a slight blush

He ended the call after saying a faint love you

I made my way out of my office, and told everyone to do the remaining work tomorrow as it was already very late. While I was walking towards my car, my phone started ringing again.

"Hey girl, how are you now? Feeling better?" I asked Serra, my other best friend who called in sick today. Apparently she has caught some cold. No doubt. This is what happens to people who take fashion before comfort. Psh..

"Yeah I'm good. Slept through the whole day, thank god I took a leave" she said chuckling. I laughed along with her. We talked some more before I arrived at the place and had to hang up.

I locked my car and stepped out, slowly taking the the surroundings.

This is where most of the big things took place in my life; My first kiss, my first boyfriend, my job, and last but most impactful, my father's death.

Before making my way up I went inside the small church and said a quick prayer for the well being of my father and for all those who passed away.

When I made my way up the half demolished site I saw Parker, whose back was facing me. As if he sensed my presence, he turned and gave me a broad smile.
