Chapter 9

9 Stay:

*2 weeks later*

I shuffled the invitations in my hands. I was extremely nervous, I didn't know anyone here. But if Louis went, everyone would. He was Mr. Popular, after all. Meaning Eleanor was Mrs. Popular. I growled at the thought of her name. Oh well, it would be over soon.

The lunch bell rang. Everyone poured out of the classes Into the cafeteria. Luckily, I had gotten out first, so I gave invitations to everyone that walked through the door. 

"Hi, hope you can come!" I said repeatedly. They would smile at me and say thanks, then sit down at whatever table they sat. 

By the end of lunch, I had people begging me for invitations, but I was out. Anne had gave me strict instructions that only 100 people could come. Considering how minimal my parents had been, I considered that a win. 

"Valerie!" The girl from 1st hour came up to me. "Do you have any extra invitations?" I shook my head without looking up. She stood there awkwardly for a moment, then walked away. I saw Eleanor look at me from across the room. Louis was coming straight toward her, and I needed to call it off, and fast. 

I stood up. "Louis!" I waved my arms around. He turned and waved. I motioned for him to sit. He turned back at Eleanor, and said a few words. She made a face but followed. I rolled my eyes. I didn't want her here.

"Hey Val." Louis said. "Hi!" I giggled. "Did you get an invite to my party?" 

He nodded. "Yeah, it sounds sick. I'll be there, for sure." He smiled and looked at Eleanor. "What time should I pick you up?" 

She looked up from her phone. "Oh I'm not coming." 

"Awww why not?" I grinned. "Its gonna be legit." She furrowed her eyes brows at my American expression. "Yeah babe, please come. You love parties!" Louis encouraged. 

"I don't know..." She said. "It seems kinda crazy." I shook my head. "Nonsense. It'll be fun, I promise." I laughed at the last part. It would be fun alright. For me .
