A few pans clatter in the back room before Grandma Joan emerges, wiping her floury hands on her apron. Her eyes widen as she notices the boy standing beside me.
"Iris, I was going to tell you..." She stutters. I rub my forehead, looking down.
"You could have told me that we are tight on money! I could've given you half of my job money." I say. Finn looks back and forth from me and my grandmother.
"It was your money and I knew you wouldn't mind if we rented out a room." She says calmly. I sigh.
"I'm not upset about Finn living here...I'm just sad you didn't tell me. Finn let's go get you cleaned up." I say almost dragging him through my house and upstairs. We reach my room and Finn sits on my bed. I pace the room.
"Sometimes I don't understand that woman." I say.
"She is just looking out for you yea know?" Finn says.
"Yeah I guess. You wanna go swimming with me?" I ask. Finn smiles. Then it fades.
"I don't have a suit." He says.
Shoot.
"I'll grab an old one of my dad's." I say then exit and slip into my parents old room. Memories flood back and I quickly grab a suit before slamming the door behind me.
"He ya go. Bathroom is down the hall." He slinks off and I close the door to change. I slip on my suit. It's blue and simple with black bottoms. Then I wipe all my makeup off. Hopefully Finn won't mind. A knock sounds on my door.
"Just a sec. Almost ready." I call. I grab my towel then open the door. I start walking only to collide with a very...very...very tan chest with abs. I almost fall but Finn grasps my arm to steady me.
"You alright there champ?" He asks his adorable dimple showing. I gulp and nod.
"Okay then let's go!" He says. He's so cute.
