Being a pro hero was not easy. It wasn't a lifestyle that most people understood. What it takes to put your life on the line for them. It was a purpose, a calling. Something that only young children can dream of.
Light streamed through their window. Rays from the morning sun stretched beyond the floor and across the body occupying the massive bed. Shota's face scrunches and he lets out a groan as he turns over, to search for that familiar piece that makes the puzzle of his body complete.
The spot was cold which had him slightly irritated. He settled for sleeping alone for another five minutes while he had the chance to rest.
"Daddy!"
But he had forgotten. He had a daughter. A three year old daughter to be exact.
Shota found himself rolling back over without a sound, covering his head with a pillow. He was teasing her, acting as if she wasn't there. But the small girl wasn't having it, she had her mothers stubbornness that's for sure.
"Daddy I saw you move!"
Her tiny feet carry her over to their bed and she propels herself onto the lumpy mattress. Climbing over to her fathers figure she lays on her stomach and lifts the pillow the smallest way.
"Daddy.......I know your awake." she peaks underneath.
The small girl whispers, not wanting to be too loud. Shota doesn't move and inch nor does he say anything which makes his daughter huff.
She makes a small pout and puffs out her cheeks. Trying to think of another idea as to get her father out of bed she sets a finger on her chin. Under the darkness of the pillow she sees a flash of red before large arms encircle her.
Letting out a cry that turns into a giggle she flings the pillow away from Shota's head.
"I knew you were awake!"
"Oh did you?" he joked, his voice raspy from sleep.
The girl nodded with a wide smile, her gapped teeth making Shota crack the smallest grin. He dragged her towards him. Squishing her under his chest she cries out.
"Nooo! Daddy don't squish me!"
Her tiny hands push at Shota's chest with no luck. His grin sticks to his lips at he squeezes her to him.
"Mommy help me!"
Shota quirks a brow at his daughter. So she's calling the cavalry then? So be it. He hears the steps of her bare feet padding against the wooden floor. She stops in the doorway and leans against it.
"What's going on in here? Where's Manami?" the women questions. Although she already knows.
Their daughter peaks out from underneath her fathers body, her tiny fingers reach out to her mother in a dramatic fashion.
"Help me Mommy! Daddy's trying to crush me!" Manami cries out with a giggle.
This has Mari smiling. She stands there and crosses her arms over her chest while sending her husband a knowing look.
"Really Shota? crushing your own daughter?" she jokes.
Her husband just shrugs and closes his eyes. Of course he wasn't putting all of his weight on the poor girl.
"It was the only way to get you in here." was his response.
Mari smirks, "Oh really?"
Shota nods and peaks open an eye, "It was a logical ruse."
