**Just because it says it's day 2, doesn't mean that it's day 2 since Mari has been wounded. I'm gonna be skipping around.**
He couldn't keep track of the time anymore. Nor the amount of people who had come to visit his wife. His entire homeroom had come by in small groups to sit with them, something Shota found to be slightly annoying and also thoughtful.
Manami got a kick out of the visiters, her attitude changing imensely since the past fews day. He had lost even more sleep than he normally did. Not wanting Manami to have to sleep on a bedside cot anymore Shota usually takes her home for the night then wakes up at three in the morning to let Kayama take over for him.
Last night had been different however. Shota had managed to eventually fall asleep in his bed alone, something he needed to get used to. It had only been an hour when he had gotten that call.
Mari's heart had stopped. It was like that day all over again when he had to rush around and call Nemuri to watch over Manami earlier than usual. He hadn't bothered to change into his normal hero costume, settling for a long sleeved black shirt and sweatpants. His hair had been pulled back into a ponytail.
When Nemuri had gotten to his home she didn't even ask what the problem was, having already figured it out. Shota had just muttered a quick thank you before sprinting down the street. He had actually taken a late bus this time as a faster route. The street lamps reflecting against his pale and sleepless face. He could only hope they had gotten her back.
The doors to the hospital had slid open before he pushed them open with brute force. The nurses had come to know him personally from how much time he spent there. Each one giving him looks of pity.
Shota caught the attention of Mari's doctor who was standing at the nurses station. He didn't look as if he was concered.
"Ah Mr. Aizawa, I'm glad yo-"
"How is she?" Shota interrupted. He didn't have the patience to stand there and listen to the doctor tell him meaningless things. He wanted to see his wife.
The doctor swfitly led him to her room, "Her heart had stopped, leaving us to perform CPR. But fortunately we got her back within five mintues of her coding." he explains.
Shota let out a harsh sigh through his nose, bringing his fingers up to rub at his sore eyes. They had gotten her back, that's all that mattered. But looking at Mari now, one couldn't have guessed she was a renowned pro hero. She looks as if she had been this way her entire life.
It was now seven hours prior to then. It was nine in the morning and the sun still had yet to rise in the sky entirely. Since he had gotten here at three, Mari's heart had stopped twice again. The last time it happened he had badgered the doctor as to why his wife kept coding. It was simple. Mari's quirk required her blood to be cold, her body had gotten used to running that way. The inside being colder than the outside.
All of her blood that circulated throughout her body, and gave her heart the strength to beat had been cold. But now that she had lost so much of it, and her quirk had to learn to replenish what it could.
Mari's body was beginning to shut down, the icepacks over her body were not working anymore. Shota could only sit there and watch as the woman that was his wife faded day by day. He had started to wonder when he should bring Manami back. He didn't want her to have to watch her mother die over and over again.
Looking at her now she looked as if she was already gone. Her skin tone still hadn't returned to it's natural color. Her eyes had small darkened circles under them. Shota was almost scared to hold her, the fragile being she had become was unsettling.
