"Cap on your left!" Steve rolled out of the way after Clint's warning. Seconds later the fist of the alien came crashing down right where he had been standing.

Somehow a portal from Asgard had accidentally been opened (*cough* Loki *cough*) and a giant alien had fallen to earth. The Avengers were in a heated battle with the monster in the middle of Manhattan. "Thor how much longer until you get that portal open?!" Natasha yelled.

"it is almost ready." He answered back. "Just distract it a bit longer."

Bruce spoke over the headset "Aim for its eyes and mouth. Those appear to be its weak points."

The battle was going well on a whole. They had been able to evacuate the area. All they had to do now was wait for Thor to open the portal up again, so they could send it back.

"Mr. Stark, I got the rest of the civilians to safety." Peter swung down to the parking garage Tony and the others were standing in.

"Good job." Tony nodded.

Thor came over the radio "The portal is opening now!" And sure, enough a large portal opened in the sky. The monster slowly started to lift off the ground and flew towards the portal. The Avengers were about to let out a cheer when suddenly its large tail swiped a building.

This building just so happened to be the one the Avengers were currently in. "Scatter!" Sam yelled and they all tried to escape the building. Only... not everyone made it.

Peter knew he wouldn't get out in time. As the roof came down his instinctively held his hands up to catch the ceiling. He immediately started getting flashbacks of the Vulture incident.

The rest of the rubble had settled around him, forming a small pitch-black cave. Peter thought he was on his own until he heard a fit of coughing. "Who's there?" he croaked, his own voice swore from inhaling dust and the massive weight on his shoulders.

"It's Tony." The voice answered, "kid is that you?"

"Yeah," Peter grunted. He could feel the building still shifting around him.

"I'm sorry about this." Tony apologized "Don't worry the others will dig us out soon." He paused for a bit "It's a miracle the ceiling hasn't crushed us. It must be being held up by a beam or something."

Peter wanted to laugh but it would only make the pain he was in worse. "Yeah, some miracle."

"Where are you?" Tony asked, "I can hear you, but I can't see you."

"I'm over here." Peter squeaked.

He could almost hear Tony rolling his eyes "Over here isn't a location kid. Are you okay? You don't sound too good."

"I'm fine." His voice cracked.

"You don't sound fine." He replied "Keep talking. I'm going to follow your voice."

"I'm right here Mr. Stark," Peter said a bit louder.

He could hear Tony coming towards him. "Gosh, it's dark down here. Oh, I know! F.R.I.D.A.Y., turn on the suit's headlamp." As soon as he said this a creaking sound was heard.

"Sorry boss." The suit answered "It appears that some systems functions were damaged in the fall. These include a headlamp, chest beam, right-hand beam, left-hand beam, right foot thrust, left foot thrust, heating, energy pulse, x-ray vision, super strength..."

Tony cut her off "So basically the suit is useless. Well, that's fine I guess. Can you still send and receive messages to the rest of the team?"

"Partially boss." She replied "I can receive but not send. The rest of the Avengers are worried if you and Peter are still alive, but they are currently digging to find you."

Tony sighed "Peter can you tell the others that we are okay?"

"No..." Peter said weakly.

"Huh?" Tony asked.

"I-I can't reach my com..." the ceiling started to shift as Peter was slowly losing his grip.

"What do you mean?" he asked, "Where are you?"

"I can't touch my ear to activate it." He replied.

Tony followed his voice until he found where Peter was standing "F.R.I.D.A.Y., turn on emergency chest lamp. Peter watched the chest piece in Tony's suit light up. When Tony finally saw Peter, he gasped "Peter?! Are you okay?!" he ran over to him "you're holding up the ceiling..."

Peter could barely crack a smile "I hadn't... noticed..."

"Don't worry the others will be here soon." He assured. Peter started coughing "Here..." Tony helped him take his mask off to help him breathe. Peter wished he hadn't because now Tony could see all the pain he was really in. Tony looked like he was about to cry but he reached into his mask and pulled out the com. "Hey everyone we're okay." He spoke, "But you need to hurry, Peter is holding up the ceiling by himself and the strength in my suit is gone." Tony gently brushed a hand through Peter's hair "It's going to be okay..."

Tony and Peter had been waiting for an hour. Tony felt like he was going to go mad. He tried to take care of Peter as best he could. At one point a steady stream of tears had started to drip down his face. Tony would wipe them from Peter's face and speak words of encouragement. "You're doing great. I'm sure it won't be much longer..."

For a while, Tony had tried to have a conversation with him, but he was now too tired to even do that. Over the past hour, he had slowly shifted from standing on his feet to kneeling on the ground. This made their little cave even smaller.

Finally, at long last, the Avengers arrived. Tony saw Steve peak his head through a hole as sunlight started to seep in. he could see the man's heartbreak at the scene. But he stayed strong. Clint grabbed Tony and pulled him out while Thor and Steve went to help Peter. They each took the weight of the building and Peter immediately passed out on the ground. Sam and Natasha gently lifted him out and rushed him over to Bruce who already had a stretcher ready in the Quin Jet.

When they got back to the tower Peter was rushed off to the med wing. Now that Peter was safe, Tony finally had time to cry himself. He had put the kid through so much pain. What if the Avengers hadn't rescued them? He could have died... Steve put a gentle hand on his shoulder and assured him it wasn't his fault.

After two days Peter finally woke up to the smiling faces of all the Avengers. Bruce had told them that he had a few torn muscles and his wrists were broken but the injuries could have been a lot worse. Thanks to his super healing Peter made a speedy recovery. He assured Tony that he didn't blame him and they both smiled. A month later Peter was back to swinging through the city and yelling quips. And the Avengers wouldn't have had it any other way.
