Kailee's POV
I'm tossing and turning, i can't fall asleep. I can't stop thinking about Alec. And prom. And who my date will be!? I have to find someone who will go with me, otherwise he will know i was lying and-
My thoughts get interrupted by my phone vibration. Who would be texting me in the middle of the night? I don't recognize the number and the message is just,
'Hey you, how's it going?'
I wonder who it is. I just reply with,
'Who's this?''You don't remember? Take a guess,' they send back.
Huh this is odd. I'm staring up at my ceiling, trying to think of who it could be, for probably like a minute, when i get another message.
'It's Liam.'
And then, 'you remember me don't you?'
'Liam! Of course i remember you! How are you?'
Liam was what you would call my childhood best friend. We were neighbours for 8 years until him and his parents moved away. I haven't seen him for 6 years.
'I'm good...now that I'm back in Pointveiw and i get to see my best friend.'
'You're here? In Pointveiw? Oh my gosh! We have to meet up and soon. We have a lot to catch up on.'
'Haha you seem excited. Does tomorrow work for you?' He asks.
'Yes, perfect!'
Good thing it's the weekend because I'm not getting much sleep tonight, especially now. I can't wait to tell Liam everything that's been happening recently...well mainly things about Alec. I smile to myself thinking about Alec's perfect smile, his lips and his hair, how I'd like to run my fingers through it with my lips pressed against his-
Stop it, i scold myself. I turned him down and he'll probably never wanna talk to me again.
I close my eyes and try to get some sleep for the last few hours of the night.

Amber's POV
I run to my soft pink bean bag chair in the corner of my room and grab my phone to text my friends.
'Guess who was just here, in my room!' I send it to both Madison and Hailey.
M-'What, who!?'
H-'Who, who, who?!'
'Alec! He finally asked me to be his date!' I tell them excitedly.
M-'That's awesome, girl!'
H-'You're gonna be so cute together!'
I smile. 'I know, i can't wait!'
I change into my pjs, that being an oversized t-shirt, and hop into bed. I grab my diary and update it, writing all the details of the evening, from the red rose to the soft kiss Alec and i shared. Then i turn off the lamp bedside my bed, pull the blanket up to my chin and fall alseep with a smile across my face.

Liam's POV
I sigh and plop down on my mattress. I'm exhausted. I just drove 12 hours from my parents place in Lakeshore to this small apartment in Pointveiw. My parents were always arguing and i had had enough. I decided to get an apartment in this small town where i felt more at home, finish high school here and then find a job. And hopefully a roommate.
I smile tiredly thinking about Kailee and how excited she is that I'm back. I can't wait to see her tomorrow. I missed her pretty red hair and how her green eyes always seemed to sparkle. I remember we used to have playdates almost every night, playing in the sandbox in the summer and having snowball fights in the winter.
She's probably all grown up now.
I fall asleep with her on my mind, wondering what she's like now.

What's that smell? My mom doesn't usually make breakfast. I stretch, yawn and sit up in bed and then remember where i am. That must be the neighbours having, what smells like bacon and eggs, for breakfast. My stomach grumbles at the thought of food. I look around at my cluttered apartment. I should really unpack first but instead i quickly wash my face and change my clothes, throwing the dirty ones towards the corner, grab my phone and wallet and head outside, walking the short distance to a cozy looking coffee shop. I get myself a coffee and a breakfast sandwich and sit down at a small table in the corner. My phone vibrates in my pocket. I check it, it's a message from Kailee,
K-'What time works for you to meet up?'
L-'Anytime, I've got all day.'
K-'Okay how about we meet at 'Le Café', the coffee shop on main, in about half an hour?'
L-'Perfect I'm already there, haha.'
K-'Me too!'
I look up from my phone and look around the café, looking for a girl with red hair. Well that didn't take long, i think to myself as i spot a pretty girl with her long red hair pulled to the side into a messy braid, sitting by herself, holding a phone in her hand and also looking around, looking for me.
I stand up, quickly throwing my empty cup in the trash and start towards her. I'm almost at her table when her eyes meet mine. She stands up and greets me with a big smile.
"Liam! It's been so long!" She exclaims.
I can't help but smile too. "Hey Kailee, it's so good to see you," i say, checking her out from her red converse, up to her sexy legs in light blue skinny jeans, her burgundy hoodie and then back to her green eyes, which still have that sparkle just like i remember.
We both pull out a chair, sit down and start chatting.
