Marco and Jean were laying next to each other in bed, trying to fall asleep. Its been nearly five years since Jean and Marco first met. They first met when they both entered the military to fight agents the titans, Marco wanted to work for the king, Jean just wanted to be safe from the titans.
Jean thought that they would just train with the 104th trianee's, then be safe with Marco in the inter wall, serving the king, without a care in the world.
Jean thought.
"Jean, are you still up?" Marco whispered, trying not to wake up anyone.
Jean looked down at Marco who had his face buried in Jean's chest, he smiled.
"yeah..I'm up. Whats wrong?'
"Sing me our song....please?"
Jean blushed, he wondered why Marco wanted him to sing it to him when they would be safe by tomorrow, but he knew he couldn't say no to his adorable boyfriends face.
"Of course babe," he whispered and began to sing softly, usually he just starts somewhere in the middle, near the chorus.
"Just close your eyes, the sun is going down you'll be alright, no one can hurt you now, come morning light-"
Marco began singing with him "You and i'll be safe and sound" They finished.
"I love you,Jean"
"I love you too"

Jean and Marco woke up, exited to go and finally get to join the military police.
They stood on top of the wall together watching over the edge, when it happened.
The colossal titan appeared, and as soon as it came it was gone. Marco got taken by the smoke and almost fell off the edge of the wall.
All of the trainees were running to get to the bottom of the wall, Jean was trying to comfort Marco, who was crying.
"T-today was the day we would be safe, Jean. Today was the day we could stop being scared of being separated...and now its ruined."
Those words destroyed Jean, because he knew it was true.
Before Jean could even answer they were separated into different groups and sent out.

Jean was separated from Marco a few minutes after the battle started., after Marco wordlessly saved Jean's life.
And now Marco was alone , bleeding from half of this torso.
He was leaned againts a wall, crying out for help weakly. Once he accepted he wasnt going to be heard, he started crying even heavier, as he began to sing.
"H-hold on to...this lullaby.. even when the musics g-gone" He closed his eyes and more and more blood began to poor from his arm.
He imagined him and Jean singing the last words of the song, he prayed that Jean would be okay, and that he would survive.
He began choking on his own blood as he heard a titan walking towards him.
"Y-you and i'll be safe....and..sound"
