The past few days have been a haze but here is a quick run down there was the fight with the parents them telling me I had to go, me packing my essentials and my not really an essential but to me it is my laptop but eventually through the events of the past days here I sit after a painfully slow bus wheelchair lift off the bus right in front of the school my parents weren't even kind enough to come with me they gave me my flight ticket and a drop off at the airport and directions and some money they did say they would send more money via mail though so I will survive with basic life needs. I slowly wheel closer to the gate that is kinda pompous but I guess they want to make a good first impression but ironically it's a bit hard to open while in a wheel chair but I do eventually get the door open, with much effort but open none the less. I wheel through the gate and it closes behind me making a loud crash the sound of me being trapped in a strange place, well not trapped we can leave to go to town after school hours. As I roll towards the main building I can't help but notice how large and well kept the yard work and campus is. I push the wheelchair button indicating it's an automatic door and roll in, that would have been useful at the front gate but that's none of my business. As I roll further in I notice a fairly tall man black hair in slacks a button up shirt and a tie he notices me and gives me a fake smile "Hello you must be Jodie." He bellows loudly and I jump a little startled by the volume of his voice "sorry I tend to get a little loud I'm Mr.Curtis I'll be your home room teacher we better get going the rest of the class is waiting, this way" he starts walking leaving me no time to question or even say hello myself but I follow him up the spiral ramps the building has up to his classroom and as I roll in I notice the rest of my classmates all handicapped in some way I guess that's what my dad was saying this was a school for the disabled and I guess they have a lot of staff to help everyone but then while I'm distracted Mr.Curtis bellows out again "Class this is our newest student Jodie please be kind to her, find an empty seat and prepare for class." He says I don't get much voice speaking the only desk that's big enough for a wheelchair to fin under is the one in the back corner. I wheel myself to my seat and grab a random notebook from my pack to use for this class, it will take a while to get used to this place. But just then I realize the boy next to me is looking at me, why? I don't know is he looking for my reason for being here? No that's too obvious maybe he's looking around me? But before I come up with a logical thought he speaks "Hey, I'm Vincent" he extends his hand to shake and I nervously shake his hand and retract my arm quickly "Don't worry people here are friendly you won't have much trouble adjusting" he smiles reassuringly but all I can think is how does he know that I'll get used to it. I'll probably just be alone the whole time I'm here and mope all day. "In fact I'll show you around the school today and you'll see how friendly people are" he keeps up his smile but I avoid looking at him directly I don't want to fit in here I'd rather just sit on the computer all day and have no social obligations but I decide I'll accept the your no reason in turning down a free tour "I guess I'll let you give me a tour" it sounded stupid but it got my message across.
