My mind swam with the thoughts of brutal words thrown at me throughout the day. The toxic ones of self image and ones that sink your self confidence as it was tied to a boulder, ready to be pushed of the bridge you stand on. My mind swam in the depths and it yearned for the oxygen to enter my lungs. My mind was drowning. I finally closed my eyes, and listened to the hurt echoing in my ears.

I laid down after the overwhelming amount of homework I had was finished. I don't know which is worse, the thoughts of trig, or the words once thrown my way being spilled from the back of my mind. I laid down to forget that pain.

It is haunting.

The familiar ache returns to my chest as it begins to heaves and my eyes sting with tears. I wanted to leave.

Amanda told me never to leave. Never to give up. I couldn't help wanting to. The memories were always brought up. My mind became fuzzy with the headache coming on, and my eyes finally closed with a burning feeling.

The dream started off slightly light hearted. There was a haze covering over the dock of the ship as I felt a similar haziness over my face. I could feel my lips upturned in a sloppy grin. My heart was at ease.

There were children running through the crowd of the square, I recognize as one in New York, right outside of my apartment. They were screaming with passion, running as fast as they could from whatever was coming. There was laughter of sadness coming the parents in the crowd around me. I also stood laughing.

It took a sudden turn as the children grew bigger, and a shadow wrapped us in a warming embrace. I now realized how cold it had once been. My head pounded at the sudden change.

But, it felt like home. The warmness instantly heated up my senses and my mind became fuzzy again. I was content.

I couldn't notice the sudden swirl of movement as the rest of the people faded and all that remained was the black figure slowly suffocating me. We were floating into the clouds when it all stopped.

Our movement ceased and my eyes opened. I was in a tank, filled to the brim with water. There was a man seated in front of the glass, slowly sipping a copper drink. He stare was icy. He had one leg crossed over onto his lap, the other stationed on the floor. He gripped harder as his mouth began to move in fast motions. I couldn't make out what he was saying.

He suddenly stood with great rage and threw the glass of alcohol against the door of the tank. I flinched.

He soon began yelling, I could hear muffles coming from the outside. He began pounding on the glass. Each hit getting harder and harder as his rage grew. Each hit sent me farther into the back of the glass. His blue eyes still piercing through me.

I felt myself hit the back of the glass and it shatter under my touch. My mind was whirling.

The man from before soon rounded the corner, he was still silently shouting until only one statement filled my ears.

"Do you know what you did to her?"

I woke up with a start.
