She walked in to the classroom, and immediately took her seat in front of the window. The way her hair was braided, running against her collarbone. The way her fringe still hid her beautiful eyes from me. The way she looked down, working hard on the math problems. It all stood out to me. I just couldn't get over her golden ora, as it poked through her hanging fringe with a golden appearance, as it framed her face perfectly, as it gave her a golden glow, or showed the one she already had. She's an Angel, and I was losing track of my own math work, watching her finish hers. She was the new girl, and that was the first time I had ever seen someone so beautiful and angelic.

I knew that I wanted her; there was no doubting that. I remember the moment my best friend introduced me to her back in '89. That moment was life changing. I remember learning her name for the first time, and never forgetting it. I remember getting my first chance to look properly into her eyes when she was looking at mine at the same time. A magical moment. I remember spending all of my recess and lunch breaks with her group, just as an excuse to be near her. No matter how cheesy, or overly cliché it sounds, she was oblivious to the effect she held on me.

She was a goddess of some sort. Anything and everything that she did was somehow perfection. I remember the very beginning of my second year of high school, walking into my class and groaning at the sight of all the people I was stuck with. To sum it up, I had to deal with assholes. Then, she caught my eye. The absolutely flawless Golden Angel was sitting just across the room, and I have a whole school year to learn more about her.

Her name was Harlee. She started at our school a week before I was lucky enough to meet her. I got to know her in some of our shared classes, and after a term or so I had fallen in love with her. It took me another term to gain the courage to ask her out; you know how teenagers are. Every single guy in our year had his eyes on her, but she turned down everyone but me. I guess she had her eyes on me. We hit it off straight away, and ever since those days she's been my one and only.

We went to formal together, we went to school dances together, and we were always together from the very beginning. By the time we graduated, we had both saved up enough money to buy ourselves a little house. Soon after we moved into our little home, I decided to ask her parents permission to ask my beautiful Harlee to marry me.

When the day came to ask her, I found myself more nervous than when I first asked her to be my girlfriend. We were at the town fair, and she was wearing a beautiful summer dress that gently swayed in the wind. From where I was standing, the sun's rays were shining down at her, and she looked like an Angel. She was my Angel, and I lost all of my nerves as I lowered myself to one knee. She smiled and covered her mouth with her hand, nodded, and crashed herself into my arms while she let out an adorable giggle.

At our wedding, I had no nerves at all. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding. The day was on a warm spring day in 2004. All the leaves were orange and they were slowly swaying towards the ground one by one. When my beautiful Harlee walked down the isle, I didn't see anything but her and the sun behind her giving her that beautiful golden shine. When she said I do, my smile no longer fit on my face.

Soon after we married, Harlee fell pregnant with our first beautiful child. We named her Shay, and she grew into a beautiful young woman. Harlee wanted more kids, but as soon as we found out about her cancer, we knew that having more kids wasn't important anymore. Getting Harlee better was the goal.

We lost the battle. In her final hours, she was happy. She lived an amazing life that was cut short by breast cancer. The fact that I'm the lucky one that she wanted to share that life with makes me the happiest person alive. Those who knew her knew how amazing she was, and that's why this room is full. I never thought I'd be giving a funeral speech for my Harlee, but life surprises us like that.
