The oath

We arrived at the restaurant. Pizza was always the best. I mean come on, you can't go wrong with pizza. The people who came with me were my family. My sister, boyfriend, and two friends. My two friends were Emma and Josh. I've known Emma and Josh since before I worked for this group. They were more to me than any of my other friends. If they had been in place of my other friends I couldn't pull the trigger. My mind went quiet about Lilly and Daniel when we were in the restaurant.

"So how long are you staying?" Emma asked.

"For as long as I shall live" I responded

"We've heard that one before" Josh comment
at the same time as Emma said "you aren't taking the oath" I smiled remembering last time I took the oath.

"What oath?" Lilly asked

"The big oath" Emma responded thinking that somehow she would know what that was.

"And that is what?" Lilly asked

"It's an oath you take to be in charge of most missions," I responded.

"So it's a huge deal?" Lilly asked

"The biggest deal down here. Grace you are telling me you have never told your sister about the time you took the oath?" Emma asked

"We weren't close" I responded

"Wait you took the oath?" Lilly asked.

"Go on tell the story" Josh pleaded.

"You can tell it" I responded

"No, you tell it"

"Fine. I had just come back from my 5th mission. I was soaking wet because I had just been in the freezing water. I was snorkeling as some would say. Something had happened during the mission causing the mission to go south. A noncommon mistake."

"Hey!" Josh shouted

"Anyways... I had jumped out of the water and acted like I was dying and that I needed help. I ended up flirting with him which caused Daniel here to run in the middle of the field and tackle the guy. When I got back they took me over to a room before I had the chance to change or dry off. They told me to take my oath and I said I will kill almost no one on my team. I will not surrender and I will not leave. If I betray my group they have the right to shoot me where I stand. I will stay with this group as long as I live. If I don't you can disown me. If the group gets compromised I will say nothing no matter what. If I speak one word you have the right to shoot me. Then I was awarded"

"O I remember that day. We were all proud of you" Emma said.

"I didn't run in the middle of the field" Daniel argued.

"Yes you did" my friends and I said
