Hey guys,
So as you guys know by now, I am releasing a sequel to Boys Will Be Boys. I'm gonna give you guys a little more information about it, like the blurb and release date and stuff, so here you go! Enjoy.
It's senior year and it seems like nothing could go wrong. After all the drama they had to handle already, the group is about done and ready to just enjoy themselves for their last year of high school. But life has other plans for them. With his cousin staying with his family and old flames blowing up in his face, Emery struggles with keeping secrets from Luke and getting cold feet about what seems to be a perfect relationship. Alana has her own demons to fight with, and lashes out to avoid dragging anyone down with her, but does that leave her to deal with her problems alone? And with so much romance and coupling going on, can the supposedly indestructable pairing of Nate and Jess make it, despite Jess' rising priorities with other friends and Nate's ex popping up again? How will Katy cope with her significant other out of school and her friends drifting away from her? The friends, sure they were as close as could be, start to wonder if they can make it, all keeping secrets and unable to truthfully talk to each other. How do they cope? Can Drew muster up the courage to confront Toby about his alcohol problem? Will Nate fight for Jess, when it appears she doesn't want to be fought for? Will Alana allow Gabe to help her, or will she determinedly stick to her belief that she can handle everything by herself? Will Emery keep Luke in the dark about his past coming back? And more importantly...what will Luke do when he finds out?
So that's not the official blurb, but just to give you guys an idea about what's going to be happening in the sequel. I didn't really cover the new characters in the blurb, but there will be some new people, as well as some minor characters returning.
Lilith Campbell, Troy DeLuca, and Matt Johnston will be making more appearances and the new characters include Cora Mason and Jake Scott, among others.
There will be some big changes with this book.
All your favorite characters will be returning, but remember they're teenagers and going through some massive changes. Rowan Smith will not be returning, nor will Bryce Phillips or Mike O'Reilly (I don't think you guys will miss those two much).
The biggest change with the sequel, in my opinion at least, will be that it is NO LONGER in Luke's POV. This is the biggest struggle for me,a s the writer, seeing as how I'm really used to thinking in Luke's perspective and now I'm transferring and have to reimagine everything, including everything that happened in the first book.
One Of The Boys will be in Emery's perspective, and I hope y'all are excited about that. I think it'll be cool to explore more about how Emery thinks and his thoughts and feelings about his relationship with Luke and frienship with Katy and etcetera.
About the release date - the first chapter will come out on the 20th of September. That's in five days! Not long at all.
So I have a question for you guys,
After reading all this (assuming you read it all), what are you most excited about for One Of The Boys? Let me know in the comments!
xoxo,
Q.
