Daring & Lizzie

I don't know exactly what it is about this ship that makes me love it, but I do.

While not my all time favourite pairing, I really like these two together.

I know that, at first, Daring only pursued Lizzie because of a dare from Sparrow Hood, but over the course of the episode I think we see a real change in the Prince Charming.

He initially tries using all of his charm to win over the future Queen of Hearts, getting her coffee, presenting her with flowers that he grew using the light from his teeth, and then showing her a rather unflattering picture off her that he painted while boasting about how charming he is.  Of course she brushes him off after every attempt, but he persists.

It isn't until he takes her on a tour of the castle on dragon back that she warms to him and I love his expression when she grabs him to steady herself when the dragon starts to fly.  I think that it's at that moment that this becomes a little more than a dare for him, and the way Lizzie smiles as she sees the school then leans her head toward his shoulder is cute because she's getting to see another side to Daring.

Of course I also love the scene with them on the balcony, the fact that Daring asks her if something is wrong is sweet and I love that he is willing to keep their date a secret because she asked him to.  Even when it meant losing the dare.

I know there are plenty of people who don't ship this for various reasons, but I think the ending of the episode is reason enough for me to ship them.  Daring had to endure Sparrow's mocking while he scrubbed his grimnastics uniform, but as soon as he saw Lizzie he didn't care about the punishment because he knew that he had made the right decision to keep their secret.  It shows that he cares about Lizzie.  I mean just look at that smile at the end of the episode!

Despite there being a number of pairings to do with Daring; Dapple, Darise, Darabella and so on, I prefer Dizzie to all of them.  I thought that Darise was sweet because Daring got to see that girls don't have to be damsels in distress, and Darabella was ok I suppose, I mean the story made sense with Daring's conceited attitude, but at the same time it just didn't fit for me.

Daring and Lizzie didn't exactly see eye to eye in the beginning, but when Lizzie decided to give Daring a chance and Daring behaved a little less conceited, they came to care about each other.  The setting for the end of their date made me love them together as a couple even more because it's the same balcony where Dexter and Raven watched the sunset together and those of you who read the previous chapter of this book know that I love them together.  So that was a bonus.

So yes, Dizzie all the way for me!
