My mom was holding a basket with fruit and other food in it while waiting for the door to open. I looked from my mom to the door. The door opened and a beautiful woman came out.
"Hello! I'm Park Sooah your new neighbour," my mom smiled and continued, "This is my daughter Yoona."
The woman smiled brightly. "Hello! Welcome to the neighbourhood. Please come inside."
As we walked inside, the woman introduced herself as Min Mihee and called someone named Yoongi. As soon my mom had handed Mihee the basket, I grabbed her hand. I was scared of the new environment. It felt so unfamiliar. I missed my dad. Small footsteps was heard on the stairs and soon after a boy around my age was standing in the same room as us. "This is Yoongi, my son. Yoongi this is Sooah and her daughter Yoona. They're our new neighbours," Mihee said. Yoongi looked at us with no feelings in his face. "Hello," he said and bowed. My mom shot me a glance and I bowed back. Yoongi looked like he wanted to go upstairs again. "Would you like a cup of coffee," Mihee asked my mom, who answered yes. "Yoongi why don't you show Yoona your room," Mihee asked. Yoongi nodded and mumbled something.I followed him up the stairs. He went into his room and sat on the bed. The walls had all kind of pictures or posters on them. In the corner his television was placed. "I want a television too," I mumbled sitting beside him. He turned to look at me. "You don't have a television," he asked with his head bent a bit to the side. I shook my head and looked over at the television again. Yoongi walked over to the television and took out a black box. I went over to him and looked on the box. I felt his eyes studying my face while I wondered what it was. “You don't know what that is,” he asked and I shook my head. “A PlayStation,” he said, “You play games in it.”
I nodded a bit still trying to understand. He turned on the television and went over to get two pillows. He handed one to me and sat on his. I looked at him and then followed the way, he was sitting on the pillow. He pressed a button on the PlayStation. “You don't talk much, do you,” he asked while handing me something. I shook my head and studied the thing in my hands. “It's a controller. You use them to control yourself in the game.”
I nodded and played with my hands. I saw Yoongi putting a game disc into the PlayStation. The game lighted up the dark television screen. “This game is pretty easy. All you have to do is shoot the ball on a ball with the same colour. When you have 3 balls concerted with the same colour you get points,” he said while showing me what to do. I nodded and started playing. After a short period of time I had a higher score than Yoongi. “What! How are you this good at this,” he asked while throwing his hands in the air. I giggled and continued to play. “It's on now,” he said getting serious.“No you're cheating! Give me that controller,” Yoongi said and tried to take the controller from me. I shook my head laughing. “I am not,” I said and tried to hide the controller from him. He pushed me to the floor and grabbed into the controller. “You are. I know it,” he laughed. I laughed along still holding on to the controller. The door opened and my mom came inside. “Having fun,” she asked. I nodded while smiling. Yoongi's mom came inside and stood beside my mom. “Let's play this game to the end. And no cheating miss,” Yoongi said while pointing a finger at me. I giggled and started playing again. While we were playing and laughing I heard my mom say “It have been so long since she have smiled like that. Yoongi is amazing. Can she please come over and see him often?”
