I was driving across country, no destination in mind just driving. I just lost my dad and had to leave South Carolina, I didn't have anything to tie me to my hometown anymore. No boyfriend, family or a job so I just loaded up my truck with my belongings after selling my house and left.
Getting a little ahead of my self here my name is Rosie Reynolds and this is my story on how I met the father of my beautiful daughter Melonie and how a one night stand changed my life and his as well. He was a dangerous man but he didn't scare me. I was intrigued by him and the scars that was on his handsome face.
Like I said I was driving cross country and made my way to California, I know it was a long way from South Carolina but I needed to distance myself from the memories of home, it was never bad but I hurt to think about not having my parents anymore. Mom died when I was twelve and my dad raised me on his own. He work at a mechanic shop and was home every night to made sure I ate, did my homework and got me ready for school. I was grateful for him.
Hank Reynolds was a loving husband and wonderful father, always providing for his family until his wife died from Cervical Cancer, it was hard on my dad but he never stopped him. He had to live for Rosie who was the carbon copy of his wife Dina Reynolds. High school sweethearts, married at twenty and had Rosie two years later. The apple of his eye and sworn to protect her at all costs.
Then he found out he had a inoperable brain tumor and couldn't work anymore, so I stopped going to school for my nursing degree and took care of my dad until his last breath. It was hard to watch him waste away, to be the shell of a man I looked up to and valued my time with him. He told me before he died, " Rosie I am so proud of the women you have become, your mom would be so proud of you." He then kissed my forehead and passed on.
I left and never looked back, I couldn't stand being in that house and all the memories it held, nothing bad just with both of them gone I couldn't do it anymore. I tried dating but they never understood why I couldn't commit to them. I was always focused on my career and then my dad. Never had time for them, so my relationships never went well.
Hopefully wherever I decide to put down roots I can go back to school and find love. I have money to get a house and go back to school, just time will tell. I want to be a maternity nurse, and to deliver babies as well. I love kids so much and watching them come into the world is a beautiful site to see. I was always babysitting kids and that's how I made my money to go to school, but put it on hold so I could help my dad and never regretted my decision to help my dad.
I was driving around until I passed a sign saying
'Welcome to Charming.' This town might have potential, I always liked small towns so I will give it a try. As I was sitting at a red light I heard the roar of Harleys. I love motorcycle's, my dad had a Fatboy and would ride around with me on the back of it and I absolutely loved it but unfortunately he had to sell his beloved Harley to pay some bills, I was crushed as well because I loved that bike but understood why he had too.The sound was getting closer and I happen to look over and saw the Harley's, the Leader was assuming anyway smiled and I smiled back. I wasn't scared of bikers. They were the most nicest people you would meet, well sometimes but I wasn't afraid of them.
" Nice bikes." I said to the man and he said
" Thanks sweetheart." He smiled an huge smile and the rest of them smiled as well and made their bikes rev up.I smiled like a kid on Christmas morning and waved to them as they went by and they waved back. I might just stick in this town and hopefully see the bikers again. So I pulled over and stretch my legs, never realized how tired I was until now. Hungary as well, so I had to find a place to eat. I started to walk around the town until I found a restaurant, it was small little diner but cozy and friendly. So I went in and order some food.
Then I saw them, the men who were on the Harley's, sitting down and having coffee. I was walking by and saw the Leader and said, " I really love your bikes, they are a thing of beauty."
" Oh it's you from the light, you know a lot about Harley's? Names Clay by the way." He said and put his hand out and I shook it.
" Rosie and yes my dad had a Fatboy and I absolutely loved it but unfortunately he had to sell it." I said
" That has to be hard on him, I couldn't imagine selling my bike but it sounds like he had no choice." Clay said.
" He had bills to pay but it's ok." I said and they all nodded their heads in agreement. Then the rest introduce themselves as Jackson, Opie, Juice, Tig, Chibs, Piney and Happy.I smiled at them all and told them it was nice to meet them and I let them get back to their coffee and I went to sit and order. But I couldn't get Chibs out of my mind, his beautiful smile, his scars on his face and his eyes man I could lost in them. I shook my head and had to stop thinking about a man I probably never see again.
So I ate, paid my bill, and left to go back to my truck and find a place to sleep for the night. I was really tired and needed a bed. Found a place to crash and it had a kitchen area so I got some food to put in there, since I got the room for the week might as well have food so I am not spending a fortune eating out. Also started looking for nursing school so I can finish my degree. I made a promise to my dad to finish so I won't disappoint him.
I laid my head on my pillow and fell asleep with Chibs still on my mind, I needed to stop but I can't.
