She looked down at the cuts and bruises on her legs , while tying her messy hair into a ponytail . They said that she was a disappointment, an embarrassment to the family. Why? They never told her.
It wasn't that she didn't like people. She just didn't like love. Any association with the emotion was bad, she thought then, and her body just learned to reject it, like the defence against a foreign substance. The way her parents had lifted their fist against her with no reason made her really wonder- were they her real parents? Did they even care about her ?
Suddenly the door opened, jolting her out of my thoughts. Her dad stepped closer , towering over my weak body. The harsh scent of alcohol could be smelt from him. She was sure that he was drunk.
But from past experience, she knew to never underestimate a drunk person, especially her father.
He literally dragged her out from the basement. She tried to escape from his grip, but it was no use. She hoped that her loving aunt can come to her rescue again, to bring her out from this disaster.
However, she soon found that this time is different.
He was bringing her out of the house.
"Get off me!" She screeched, frantically trying to escape from him.
He snorted , gripping her hand tightly than ever. "You are really troublesome."
The street was dark, shadows looming over them. She trembled with fear, not knowing what destiny awaits.
He brought her - dragged her to a dark alley, pushing her onto a pile of bricks.
Her head hit hard.
She lifted her hand and touched .
Blood . She clenched her fists. Her eyes were filled with mixed emotions , anger , sadness and fear ."Why do I deserve this !" She shouted hysterically, tears rolling down her cheeks "Why ..."
Her eyes blurred . She desperately reached for the tall figure in front of her .
Darkness swept through her vision like a cape.
