Chapter 3

As Emma and I were walking down the hall to the cafeteria I saw Matt. Of course he was at his usual table with his,"posey". I swear they followed him around like puppy dogs. (No offense to the puppies.) He glanced in my direction, and started giving me a signal to come sit with him. I was on my way to go sit with him, but I forgot Emma had something to tell me. So I said I couldn't. He looked sad for a moment, but got over it quick.

I searched the room to hopefully find Emma. I did. She was sitting alone at our usual table waiting for me. I sat down, and asked what was so important. She said, "you would not believe what I found out"! "What", I asked. She said, "Matt has a girlfriend"! While she was saying that I was going to town on my pizza. But, after she finished that sentence my mouth dropped open, and out came my mushed up pizza. She said she was sorry, but felt I deserved to know. (She was the only person who knew I liked Matt).

I zoned out for like 10 mins. Emma said, "Natalie wake up". I was awake, but my heart was pounding so hard. I said I'm here I'm still breathing (maybe). I rushed to the bathroom. I felt hot tears trying to wiggle their way out of me. No, I'm not gonna lose it, I said to myself. But, they made their way out. I sat there and cried. All of my bottled up anger and sadness just finally were let out. And, let me tell you. It was a long 20 mins. Emma finally came and comforted me. She said I'm sorry, but it's time for class. I gave her the go ahead to leave. I just sat there.
