That One Day

Laura sat in the back of the train, hoping to get away from this blood-stained city. A young man sat beside her. Not tilting her head, but shifting her eyes instead, she blushed at the sight of a hot 19-year-old, with eyes as blue as the faded afternoon sky, with hair as white as the snow, and here she was, an 18-year-old with the whitest eyes and long hair as dark as a cat's fur, yet fading to a deep blue as deep as a midnight lake. He took off his shirt and she blushed harder.

The train lurched to one side so hard that Laura's hair bun became undone and her jacket flew off. Trying to stabilize herself, she grabbed the man's shoulder. He quickly fell to one side and stopped himself by putting his hand behind him. Laura's arm fell behind his head, trying to stop the force, but the force was so strong that Laura kissed him.

The man blushed and, after a moment of hesitation, he held out his hand and winked. "I'm Ice." Laura grabbed his wrist. "I'm Laura." As Ice talked about himself with Laura still grabbing his wrist. As quickly as he started talking, she interrupted and said, "Shut up and kiss me." Laura boldly pulled his wrist and looped her arms around his head and neck, allowing him to fall on her.  They pulled away from each other and after a moment, the train flipped.

Laura held onto the seat to avoid falling. Suddenly, two objects on the ground caught her eye. They were two identical bracelets, black with hints of silver and green, blackened lace on the top and the bottom. But something else on the bracelets interested Laura: the fact that thorns were scattered on each side.
