NERD'S PINKY PROMISE

CHAPTER 2

When I tried to run faster to help her, someone shouted to my back but I didn't bother to listen. I saw a horrified plastered on her face as she surrounded by three big grown men. When one of them approached her, I shouted.

"Let her go! Or else" I warned them and they laughed.

"Or else what?" Said one of them which I assume to be their leader is came closer.

"I can kick your ass off." I smirked

"Oh yeah, how? How can a nerd beat an adult people with your small hand?" They all laughed.

"I may be a nerd but do you ever hear a phrase 'don't judge a book by its cover'?" With that I punched straight to his jaws and kicked his stomach. He groaned and when he tried to throw a punch at me, one of the poker faces- I mean the men in black pointed his gun to them. With that, they all surrender and run off.

"Are you okay?" I asked as I rushed toward her and she nodded.

"May I know what is your name?" She asked.

"Uhm Melissa." I replied and gave her a smile.

"Thank you for helping me, Melissa." She hugged and thanked me. I was shocked with her sudden action. Well, no one ever hugged me back then in UK especially a stranger or even friends.

"Uhm...hmm" I looked at the driver. He gave me a 'we have to go now' face. I nodded as I broke the hug.

"Well uhm, I need to go." I awkwardly said.

"Oh okay." We bid our farewell as I entered in the car. I bet it's going to be a long ride to home. I sighed and rest as I entered my dream world.

"Ms. Kearney, wake up." Mr. Borne said. I wasn't joking when I said his name was Mr. Borne. I asked him what his name was because I don't think it's nice to call him men in black after all the things he did. I thought he made a joke about it so I laughed but soon I realize that he's not joke-type-of-person. Besides, he's a bodyguard. I facepalm myself.

I stepped out from car and I saw an old man stood in front of a big fancy door. My eyes grew bigger as I saw my grandpa there.

"Grandpa, I'm home!" I cried as I rushed toward him and gave him a hug.

"Mel, look how much you've grow up now. I'm miss you." He gave me his warm smile.

"I miss you even more, grandpa."

Suddenly I remember something so I broke our hug. "What's wrong, Mel?" I shook my head. "It just...I disguised as a nerd and I don't want people to know me. Then I forgot that I'm not supposed to hug you when I got here. Especially in this house." I looked down as I said that. "Don't worry, Mel. There's only me with other maids and bodyguards are here." I looked at him then I looked at the surrounding. "Where are the others?"

I ate my lunch with my grandpa in this big and long fancy dining table. We have four dining tables as it's had their own status. First table that my grandpa currently sat now is a VIP seat which were only high status can only sat there I mean adult people. Second table were only sitted by other adult people who's not a VIP person. Third table which I sat now is only for teenagers and of course the last table is only for young kids.

"Mel, you're going to start your school on Wednesday. Don't worry. Everything had been settled by me and your uncle as he is a principle there." He said while reading a newspaper. "What?! That's mean I only have 2 days to arrange my stuff at my apartment?" He nodded while I gasp at him "Why not next week? I want to discover some place while I'm here." I whined. "Don't you want to go to school?" Asked my grandpa. I gave up and I nodded.

After a long chit-chat with him, finally I bid my goodbye. The driver opened the door for me to sit in. Thankfully, there are no other people except me and the driver in the car. I feel tired and I was quickly asleep.
