"Come on Shina hang on." At this point, Sakura was giving the child a sponge bath in lukewarm water with 2nd degree burned hands. The pain in her hands hadn't registered yet, all that mattered at that point was cooling down Shinachiku.

Shina began whining which she took as a good sign since he was responding. "It's ok Shina mommy's here I'll help you." She was somehow managing to keep her voice leveled and calm despite the tears streaming down her face. She had to watch this poor child suffer and could barely do anything about it. On the bright side, his temperature went down, but it was still too high for a baby.

What good was she as a medic if she couldn't even take his pain away. She put her hands over Shina's forehead to scan for something she could heal, but there was nothing. It wasn't burned skin like Naruto had on that bridge but just a very high fever that she couldn't detect what was causing it.

"Sakura-chan how's Shinachiku?" Sakura quickly wiped her cheeks with her wet hands and went back to rubbing Shina's back to comfort him.

"What do you think?" She snapped.

"What's going on?" Jiraiya was beside her in a heartbeat observing Shina closely. All Naruto told me was that it was an emergency and Sakura needed him.

"Why don't you tell us? With a fever as high as what Shina had no baby, nor human being should be alive right now. You and Shishou have been hiding something from both Naruto and me, and it has something to do with Shinachiku." She was connecting the dots, and Jiraiya didn't like that at all. He and Tsunade should have known that Sakura would be smart enough to figure something was amiss.

"Shishou had us knocked out just so that we would leave the village you were also adamant about us staying here and not going back to the village. Also...I've felt this chakra before..." Jiraiya felt the younger blonde's forehead and could tell that his fever was still in full effect. Upon closer inspection, he could see whisker-like marks on Shinachiku's cheeks.

"Well, you two already know why you can't be in the village right now. Tsunade and I have no idea why his chakra is so similar to the Kyuubi's."

"What?!" Behind them, Naruto was in shock at the news he just heard. The child they were taking care of had similar chakra to the Kyuubi?

"It's not always sometimes it's normal other times it's not." He's been checking when the two weren't looking.

"How is this possible? Shinachiku isn't related to me, and the Kyuubi has been inside of me long before he was born." Jiraiya wanted to cringe when Naruto said that the child wasn't related to him but managed to hold it in.

"This wouldn't be the first instance that someone was able to have the Kyuubi's chakra in them without the beast being sealed in them. There were Pseudo Jinchuuriki. One example of this was during the first shinobi war. Kinkaku and Ginkaku were brothers from the land of lightning they were also known as the gold and silver brothers. Those two tried to capture the nine tails for their village but instead were eaten by the tailed beast. For survival they ate the walls of nine tails stomach after that they were spat out by the Kyuubi. That gave them large chakra reserves and same abilities as that of a Jinchuuriki." Sakura and Naruto blanched at the thought of eating the Kyuubi's insides to survive.

"Gross..." Sakura said her face turning green.

"I'm pretty sure that didn't happen to Shinachiku he that interested in chewing yet." Jiraiya chuckled softly.
