I didn't pay much attention during French that day, I was kinda preoccupied with Logan sitting next to me. What was he doing here? What was his life like before he came here? Was he pretentious or was it just his name?

He had shaggy dark brown hair that covered up his eyebrows but stopped just above his amber eyes. He had very chiseled features, and when he smiled his dimples would show.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer," Logan whispered when he noticed I was staring at him.

I was so embarrassed he caught me staring at him, "Oh, sorry," I said as I tried to hide the fact that I was blushing.

"It's okay, I get it I'm new, you're curious. I would be too. But don't worry  you're not the first to stare," he said with a small chuckle. Wait a minute, did he just say I wasn't the first to stare? That could possibly mean the pops. were scoping him out to see if he was pop. material.

"Who else has stared at you?" I asked kinda awkwardly.

He shrugged like it was no biggie and said, "Just that blonde Amber girl and her friends."

Amber, I knew it! She can't just let me and Josh make one new friend without her trying to recruit them. God this is why I hate her!

"Oh... Just a little word of advice, there not the kind of people you want to befriend. They're huge bitches," I said.

"How so?" he asked furrowing his eyebrows together.

"Well me and Josh used to be friends with Amber until she suddenly became hot in the 7th grade and ditched us for popularity. Now they all hate us and we don't even know why," I said back.

"Oh that's kinda Fucked up that she would do something like that to you guys," he whispered back with an angry scowl. Maybe he wasn't like them after all.

When the bell rang it startled me, bringing me back into reality after thinking so much about what type of person Logan could be.

"What class do you have next Logan?" I asked getting up from my seat.

"Uh, Trig. What about you guys?" he said as Josh joined us.

"Huh, what a coinky-dink, we have that too. We can all walk together," I said with a smile.

Josh and me had a majority of our classes together, well it was actually had all but one, but I had that class with Jamie so it was all good.

Logan walked out the door in front of us, and Josh pulled me aside for a second and asked, "Do we like him?" I  just shrugged. I mean obviously he seems like a cool person but I don't know if I trust him enough to let him into our "group" that easily.

He nodded and then asked "What's bothering you?"

I answered with "Amber's been scoping him out, I don't know if we can trust him." He nodded again and we rejoined Logan in the hallway.

"Hey Logan, you have a girlfriend back in Jersey?" Josh asked.

"No, I'm a single man," he said, "Why do you ask?"

"Just wondering who you were gonna go with to Homecoming next weekend," Josh replied. I can usually tell what Josh is thinking but as of right now, I'm lost as to what he's doing.

"Oh, I didn't know it was so soon. Well I don't really know anyone here, so I probably won't go," he said with a shrug.

"Well if you don't have a date by then you can always just go with us and our friend Jamie, you're always welcome to hang out with us," Josh said. Oh I get it now, if we get to him first then Amber can't have him.
