Chapter Seven

Layden

Fuck.

I fucked up. I know I did. When I said I wanted to fuck her, I wasn't actually going to do it, and not that she'd even let me. It's just that I couldn't help myself. From the first time I met her, she just captured my attention straight away. She so was feisty and irritating, annoyingly gorgeous too. And most girls that go to church with fasters as pastors are the complete opposite, you know? The goody-two shoes, 'I can't even look at you because you're a bad person and I go to church and I'm so frickin holy' type of girls, and she just isn't like that.

I knew it from the minute I looked at her and then she showed some nerve and called me an asshole. Which I am most of the time, but damn, I didn't even know the girl for 3 minutes before she started talking bullshit. Being completely honest, after our first encounter, I knew I was going to enjoy this community service shit for the next couple of months. Ariana amuses me and finding out I make her tick brings joy to my day. Something I haven't had in a while.

Being down in that dusty old basement, I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to kiss her or I didn't see it coming because I did. I'm attracted to the girl, but it doesn't mean I like her. But when she held onto me like I was her life and started moaning, I couldn't stop. I mean, until we got interrupted by some girl. And to think I didn't-

"Layden!" My uncle Ronny bangs on the door, disturbing me from my thoughts. He walks right in with a bowl of cereal in his hand, munching away. "Going to school today kiddo? Or are you dropping out and spending this fine afternoon with me?" he grins at me. Being annoying is one of my uncle's favorite things to do, next to doing nothing, which would explain him always getting fired from his job, or whatever job he has at the time.

Right now, he works about 4 days a week at some bar across town. Probably to hit on any hot chick who strolls right in looking for a good time. Although I've been awake for about half an hour, my eyes flicker open and I notice he's sporting an all black polyester button down shirt along with his black slacks and loafers.

"I couldn't find the energy to get up on time so forgive me dear uncle for not taking my education seriously. I sincerely apologize with all my heart," I sarcastically mock, with a hand over my heart.

"Isn't it a lil too early for that smart ass mouth of yours kid? Anyways, we'll rain check on that afternoon together, I'm outta here in 10, I got work at 2." And with that, he strolls right back out of my room, sipping the damn milk out the bowl.

Looking at the clock, I realize it's 1:39 pm in the afternoon. If I'm able to get my lazy ass up now, I guess I could make it in time for last period.

As much as I want to stay in bed all day and do nothing, I definitely don't want to end up like Uncle Ronny. As soon as the ice cold water hits my body and drenches me from head to toe, I'm instantly refreshed and the laziness is long gone. I hop out the shower and grab a regular white t-shirt and throw on a pair of black jeans.

Grabbing my keys off the kitchen counter, I down some milk real fast and just as I'm about to head out the door, the phones rings. A quick second passes by before I stroll over to the phone and when the caller ID is displayed, my heart drops. What the fuck is she calling here for? Abandoning me wasn't enough? Being ashamed of me wasn't enough?

What could she possibly have to fucking say to me? I should just walk straight out the door and pretend I didn't hear the ring. Or I could answer and see what the hell she wants. I weigh my options quickly about answering but my curiosity gets the best of me and I grasp the phone in my hand and bring it up to my ear.
