camryn's point of view
"Tyler! Seriously, get off of me!" I hear my little brother Max whine from the backseat.
I sigh, pushing my headphones back into my ears. I look in the cars mirror, seeing Tyler sprawled across the backseat, with an uncomfortable looking Max squirming beneath him.
I smile slightly, leaning my head against the window. I snap my head to the side when one of my headphones is pulled out. My mother looks at me tiredly.
"We're almost here Camryn. When we get there I need you to help Max carry in his boxes, okay?" She says.
I nod. "Yeah, sure. Whatever." She bites her lip, staring at me for a moment.
"Mom, stop staring at me like that. I'm fine." I say, and she sighs.
"I just feel bad sweetheart, I know you were counting on your father to change." I close my eyes, pinching the bridge of my nose.
"Can we not talk about this right now?" She doesn't say anything for awhile after that.
I glance out the window as we stop at a red light. I study the sign that says "Welcome to Hollow Hills. Population: 1,746." My eyes widen when a man takes down the 6, replacing it with a 5.
"Mom.. You don't think the name Hollow Hills is a bit creepy?" I ask uneasily.
"Camryn, its fine." She says quietly. I sigh, staying quiet.
She pulls up in a driveway and I furrow my eyebrows, observing it. It looks like a two story house, the grass being quite long considering nobody's lived here for a long time. The house itself is a faded yellow, with brown shudders.
I unbuckle my seatbelt, sighing as I finally step out of the cramped vehicle. I stumble backwards when the back car door whips open, barely hitting me straight in the face.
Max jumps out, with Tyler right behind him. "Jesus Christ Max, calm down." I say, and he giggles.
"Oops?" He says, shrugging his shoulders.
"Hey, go ahead and go pick your rooms. Then start getting these boxes inside. I'm gonna go meet the new neighbors." My mother says, a smile on her face.
She gives me the house key and I open the door. I step inside, looking around. The living room is quite nice, except for the furniture that is covered in what looks like years of dust.
I walk up the stairs, my two brothers running up and shoving me aside. I roll my eyes, gripping onto the railing. I walk down the small hallway, passing the master bedroom, the room Max chose, and the room Tyler chose. I finally reach the end of the hallway, opening the door to the last room.
I look around, a smile growing on my face. The room is bigger than both of my brother's, and there's a small balcony on the far side of the room.
I walk over to it, opening the door and stepping outside. There's a forest right behind our house, and there's a small shed in the back yard.
I walk back inside, only to be met by even colder air. I shiver, frowning slightly. After a few minutes of looking around, I finally find the thermostat. I figure out how to work it, then turn the heat up.
My mother then walks through the door, shaking her head with a disappointed look on her face.
"Well, we have one decent neighbor." She huffs.
"What about the other one..?" I ask.
"Some druggie, college dipstick." She rolls her eyes, placing her hands on her hips. "So what do you think of the place?"
"I mean, its not the worst." I say, shrugging my shoulders. She raises her eyebrows, nodding her head.
"Go help your brother with his boxes, Cam."

I fall backwards onto my bed, closing my eyes. I had just finished unpacking and organizing my room, and I was exhausted.
Once again, I felt a sudden coldness surround me. I open my eyes, slowly sitting up and looking around.
I'm about to lay back down, when a voice makes my body go rigid.
"Welcome to Hollow Hills. Hope you enjoy your stay in my house."
I whip my head around to see a flash in the doorway. A boy, who looks around my age, is leaning against the doorframe.
His body is flickering, almost like a lightbulb that's about to burn out. His eyes are pitch black , and his curly hair is deathly unruly. Hah, deathly. I'm so funny.
"W-what?" I'm at a loss for words. I have no idea who this guy is, or what this guy is, I should say.
He narrows his black eyes at me, crossing his legs. "Listen here, babe. This is my house. As in, you shouldn't be here."
He pauses for a moment, and flashes in front of me. "And as long as you're here, I'm gonna make you're life a living hell." He smiles evily, then flashes out.
I let out a breath I had been holding, looking around my now empty room. I stand up shakily and walk over to the mirror doors on my closet.
I rub my eyes, noticing the clock that's blinking 10:07 pm in neon red. I sigh, opening the closet that says "Lanceford track&field" on it.
I pull my shirt off and put on the sweatshirt, grabbing the matching sweatpants. I pull off my jeans, sighing in relief to have comfortable clothes on.
There's a knock at my door, and my mother's voice rings through. "Goodnight Camryn! Don't forget, its your first day of school tomorrow!" She says cheerily.
I groan, falling onto my bed. "Goodnight mother." I say, loud enough for her to her.
I bury myself under the warm covers, falling asleep wondering about the curly demon guy that I had encountered today.
