"Please, can I at least see him?" I whine.
Tony sighs, "Come on, North. Ask Fury."
I cross my arms and huff out a breath. "My name is Dakota. And I already did. I asked for a day in there. And if it went well, to be stationed there. Long term."
"And?" Tony raises an eyebrow at me.
I cross my arms over my chest, lowering my voice several octaves and doing my best Nick Fury impression, "My daughter is not going to be in the same room, the same vicinity as a high class criminal, not to mention a demi-God."
"He has a poin- Ouch!" He exclaims when I punch his arm lightly.
"You're just bitter because he broke your tower."
"He killed people Dakota!" He exclaims, becoming suddenly serious.
I sigh, "I know, I know. Thanks anyway, Tony."
"No problem, North" I roll my eyes at the second use of my nickname and watch him walk off toward the labs, probably to bug Bruce.
Thank you very much, Stark. I laugh lightly, pulling Tony's key card from my pocket. I walk toward the holding cell, acting like my normal, mysterious self. Once I reach the door I swipe the key card and the door slides open. Got here during the guard change. Perfect. I walk into the roomy eyes landing on a line of controls first then wandering to the glass cage in the middle of the room. Pacing inside the cage is none other than The God of Mischief and Lies himself. I pocket Tony's key card and stroll over to the controls. The man sitting at the controls has his nose in a playboy magazine and hasn't noticed me yet partly due to my silent tread, partly due to his being engrossed in his reading material.
"Is that your gun or are you just happy to see me?" I ask, arms crossed, trying to portray authority.
He jumps, "Ms. Fury! I... um... You see..." He futilely hides the magazine.
"Just tell me what these do, Griffyn." I sigh, gesturing to the controls.
He is caught off guard by my use of his name, but finally catches up, "Uh... This switch changes the cell lighting. The green button turns the speakers in here on and off, the blue one turns the speakers in the cell on and off, and the red button opens the do-... hey, wait... are you supposed to be-" I knock him out with one blow to the head.
"Sorry, Griff. Nothing personal."
I turn on both the speaker s so that Loki and I can both hear one another. I then sit down and the computer and disable the audio on the video cameras. This entire time Loki has been watching me, hands folded behind his back. Once I finish with the cameras I sit back in the chair, throwing my feet up on the controls and study him as well, chewing on the end of my pen.
He speaks first, "Sociopathic tendencies, seductress façade, arrogant..."
"Are we talking about you or me here?" I smirk and I can tell it irks him greatly. I spin in the chair and stand walking over to the bridge that leads to the outside of his glass prison. I walk up to it slowly then glance at one of the cameras.
"You're not supposed to be here, are you?" Loki observes.
I smirk as I hold my wrist to the top of his cage and the metal band on my wrists breaks off, "No, I'm not," I respond, appearing right in front of him in his cage.
I thought I was tall, but Loki is at least a head taller than me. I look up at his face, his body close enough that I could lay my head on his chest and curl into him. His eyes are the brightest green I have ever seen, matching my lavender eyes in vibrancy. His features are sharp and chiseled and I really, really want to touch his cheekbones. His hair is a raven black, shoulder length.
"Oh, fun," he says, snapping me back to reality, "What was that?" he gestures to the two halves of the metal band that was previously on my wrist.
"It keeps me from being a naughty girl." -or using my powers.- I smirk in reply.
"Have you come here to tell my how bad of a person I am. How many people you lost to me, the destruction I caused? Because I think this whole department has already done so. So if you wouldn't mind-"
He continues but I cut him off, "I'm not here to reprimand you. You're a big boy."
I begin pacing around him. A cat examining her kill.
"Whoa. I am standing right next to The God of Mischief and Lies." I smirk stopping to fiddle with his collar.
"Why are you touching me?" He asks, emphasis on the why.
"Because in 23 seconds my father will walk through that door and he would not like this. One. Bit." I purr, poking his chest as I emphasis my last two words.
Loki opens his mouth to speak but just as he does, I hear the doors open behind me and I don't even have to turn to know who it is. "Right on time." I whisper so that only Loki can hear me and I study his face as he watches Fury and a couple other S.H.E.I.L.D agents file in. Finally, I spin around to face my dad.
"Hi Daddy!" I smile wide, using my best little girl voice.
"Dakota Anne Fury, What in God's name are you doing in there?!"
"Just meeting our new play toy, Father."
I glance at Loki, who looks slightly amused at the whole situation. Let's see what goes on in that gorgeous head of yours. I focus on him and only him and try to pull a thought. Suddenly a searing pain shoots through my head and I squeeze my eyes shut, my knees buckling underneath me.
Then I hear a laugh.
"Stay out of my head." Loki says, rather forcefully and I realize he is in my head.
I stand, realizing that the other avengers are probably watching and teleport myself back out of the cage, pushing back the pounding in my head I try to push my way past my dad, but Fury grabs my arm and growls into my ear. "My office. Now."
He is so pissed.
