"But they say you can hear him breathing in the woods. So he's still alive." I said.
As Aries and I were walking on the side of the road, we were discussing the ending of this book we had both read, Mossman.
"No, what the author means is that you can still hear his breathing, in figurative form. The Mossman had lived in that forest for over a hundred years, so after he died, his pressence could still be felt there. Doesn't mean he's alive. It's all meant figuratively." Aries said.
In the story, this hunter is hired by the town's people to kill Mossman after Mossman started entering the village to kill people, and when the hunter, named Marshall Ace, goes in the forest and finds the Mossman, they engage in this intense battle, ending with the two of them falling off a cliff and into a river.
My conclusion of the book is that the Mossman is still alive, in contrast to Aries'.
"But the author says Marshall died, and he made no remark of the Mossman dying." I said, "Furthermore, the town's people found Ace's body, but no one found Mossman's body."
"Which only strenghtens my conclusion. The Mossman is dead, his body underwater." Aries said.
"This isn't what the author-"
Suddenly we heard a beep behind us.
We turned and found a black Volkswagen Beetle behind us.
There was only one person I knew that drove a Beetle, and sure enough, Olliver Nestworth sat behind the wheel.
"Need a ride?" Olliver asked in his cool voice.
"Can we fit in there?" Aries asked, smiling.
"Course you can."
"Well let' go then." Aries pulled the door open and pulled at the lever that pushed the door forward, and went to sit in the back.
I pushed the chair back in place and went to sit next to Olliver.
"Hello man." I said to him after closing the door.
"Hey." He said, and drove off, "What are you two up to?"
"Going to the mall. Some stuff to buy." I said, " You? Going to work?"
"Indeed I am." He said.
I already knew the answer, but I just asked to make conversation.
Olliver worked at my father's bookstore at the mall.
He didn't like wearing his uniform, which was why he wasn't wearing it at the moment, but I knew he worked every day past noon in the vacation.
Olliver Nestworth is a music student at Heatworth (Again, all of my friends go to Heatworth) , and he is actually really good.
He is best on the piano, but he plays othe instruments as well, such as the violin, the harp and the flute.
He is rich, and I mean he is pretty rich (His father owns banks), so his room was really big, and in it he had a grand array of musical instruments.
The reason he even worked was that he had made a deal with his father.
If he worked every day in the vacation, his father would cover all of his expenses throughout the rest of the year.
Also, the reason Olliver drove around in a Beetle instead of one of those cool expensive sportcars, not that a Beetle isn't cool, was because his father told him he had to buy his first car with his own money. Sorta like this lessons of life things.
"Hey,did you two get invited to Nick's thing this saturday?" Olliver asked.
Olliver was a popular guy, that was plain as day to see.
