Ruby has only been with one man, David. David and Ruby met when she was in her last year of college. She was a stuck up little girl who had never been in love and was at this point was running out of options for her future. Being a anthropology major, there is not a ton she felt that she could do, it was like she was stuck in a perpetual cycle of working for this magazine, coming home to have the most boring, unfulfilling sex with David, listen to him complain about work, and basically go to bed and start the day all over again.

She felt like there was something missing, something that made her feel like she was worth something, anything at this point. There were so many things she wanted to try and do, but having David with her always felt like she had a weight tied to her ankle. "We can't do that, it's not safe. We can do that because we could get sick. Ruby you can't do that because you don't have a license." The one that tops the cake for Ruby is, "Ruby I just wanna make love, and go to bed so let's get this over with." Now whether it's in those exact words or not is actually undecided, but that's what Ruby hears every time she wants to try something new, especially in bed.

They've been together for three years now and the most interesting thing that they've done was get Tiy food and then she practically had to beg him to let her kiss him after she had finished giving him a blowjob. Ruby heard all these stories from her friends about their husbands, or side lovers doing all these kinky, amazing sounding things and these stories were starting to consume her thoughts. Which brings us to now, Ruby and David are sitting in the car under a stifling silence. They've just had their monthly fight about getting married and starting to have kids. David has been trying to propose to her for the last two years, but Ruby doesn't want to get married or have kids. Being stuck with David for the rest of her life sounds like her own personal version of hell. It wasn't horrible the first two years with him, in fact she kinda had fun, but after a while David's constant complaining and grumbling about his work and his lack of respect could make anyone want to jump out a 10 story window.

As their cars pulls into a sidewalk spot at a local bar, Ruby has to remind herself over and over again that David was overall a good guy and would take care of her in the future, which means that she should just smile and try to get through dinner and drinks with his obnoxious sister and her fiance Devin. At least tonight she could get drunk and hopefully that will help heal the pain in her head she is already starting to feel.

"Right this way." David muttered under his breath pulling Ruby, towards a table in the middle of the dinning/bar area.

"David!" His sister Jenna called, pulling him in for a hug.

"Hey sis," He said hugging her back.

"Hey Ruby!" Said Devin pulling her in for a friendly hug.

"Hi Devin, how are you doing?" She asked pulling back and looking him up and down.

"I'm super good, Jenna and I were just talking about you actually."

"Oh yeah? All bad I hope!" Ruby said winking at him.

"You know it!" He said laughing and sitting back down.

Jenna didn't bother to hug Ruby, she never approved of her for her baby brother, this is why they had these monthly dinner in the first place, so that Jenna could learn to love Ruby so that when her and David got married things wouldn't be so tense. Naturally this didn't work and the women butted heads on anything and everything they could.

The conversation was lighthearted and normal for a majority of the night, they got through their meals in one piece which was a miracle in itself. "So," Jenna said to Ruby, "David told me that you don't want him to propose, why is that? Is he not good enough for you? Are you just using him for his money?"
