Mori: I don't think it was that bad

Y/N: Mori, I told a guy I never met he was cute! In my original dialect! Do you know how that sounds to a person?

Mori: Like a compliment?

Y/N: No Mori! No! It does not!

Mori: What If you said it in a 'normal' way. You know, not 'our' way.

Y/N: Mori, what are you getting at?

Mori: I hate the fact that you've changed, Y/N. I hate how you went from a lover of the dialect to not even wanting to speak it.

Mori: Who did this to you?

Mori: Was it them?

Y/N: Please, I don't wanna talk about this.

Mori: I prefer we don't, but you got us into this situation.

Y/N: Can we talk about something else, please?

Mori: Yeah, let me just do some stuff.

You lay in bed and close your flip phone, sighing and looking up at the sky. More pictures came in from the other trainee students a little earlier, yet you had grown weary and tired from looking at them. Mori wasn't talking to you anymore because of the incident, you didn't have any other friends, and you were pretty sure Akechi would say he's too busy or some bullshit like that. Maybe you'd make yourself some breakfast for dinner and call it a night?

"Still... that boy..." You hug a pillow and roll in bed. "Gyah! He was adorable! He had a cat in his bag and everything! So cute!" You then pause to think. "But... I can't have feelings for him, I just met him. This is stupid. I'm stupid. Who was I even talking about again?"

And so, you go to make dinner for yourself as you forget everything that just happened. The sizzle of the bacon made you forget your worries and problems, whilst the pressing of the waffles pressed away your current problems. You had put on some music to help you calm down.

As if none of this was happening, your phone rings with a notification from Mori.

Mori: Hey, I got cu' boy's number.

Y/N: Shut up, I'm frying bacon

Mori: I know, I can hear that sweet sizzle from upstairs.

While looking at your phone, you take a broom and jam it into the ceiling, making a thump noise. You're answered back with a thud from upstairs.

Mori: Hey, speaking of sweet. You have to work with Acuntchi tomorrow, right?

Y/N: Language

Mori: I have an idea

Y/N: Do tell of this idea

Mori: One Up him at everything

The waffle iron beeps, noticing you of how the waffles were ready for consumption.

Y/N: Go on.

Mori: Hear me out.

Mori: Akechi doesn't know what the limit to your ~genius mind~ is. He doesn't know how quickly you can crack cases. He doesn't know of the limits you would go to solve one minor case. He doesn't know about the glass hand incident.

Y/N: He knows my biggest accomplishments.

Mori: Yeah, But does he know you?

You put the phone down and stop frying the bacon, smirking to yourself. Akechi was too self-absorbed to pay attention to you, he saw you as an obstacle in his way. If you, for example, surpassed him in a case, how would it work out? Would you finally be seen as his equal?
