It had been almost a year since the breakup. Ray, Frank, Mikey, and Gerard all knew how hard the breakup had been on the fans and had decided to release a greatest hits album as a 1 year memorial. Now, all four of them were gathered in Gerard's private studio to discuss the album.

"I never expected the fans to take the breakup as hard as they have," Mikey said. The other members nodded, all deep in thought about MCR's final days and the upcoming greatest hits album. They had already chosen the title. May Death Never Stop You, as a message to the fans to keep on living even though MCR was dead.

"You know, maybe we could write one more song," Gerard said, looking thoughtful.

"What? They'll think we're reuniting." Frank responded, narrowing his eyes.

"Not if we put it on May Death Never Stop You and act like it was a song we wrote and recorded for the fifth album."

"We could make the lyrics about the breakup, so it would be like a tribute song," Ray said.

"I like that," Gerard replied, and Frank and Mikey nodded in agreement.

"So I guess we're doing this?" Mikey asked.

"Yeah," Ray, Mikey, and Gerard all said in sync, "We are."

"We need to make it obvious that it's a final song. The lyrics can't give any indication of a possible reunion because we don't want false rumors spreading." Gerard said. Everyone else agreed.

"I have an idea for the lyrics," Gerard said, standing up.

Gerard grabbed the laptop in the studio, opening a notepad to write down lyrics. "I choose defeat, I walk away. And leave this place the same today," Gerard said, typing the line as he spoke.

"Some like to sleep, we like to play," Ray added, Gerard smiled, typing it.

"Just look at all that pain," Mikey said quietly.

"Like, in reference to the reaction to our breakup?" Gerard asked.

"Yeah," Mikey said.

"Damn," Frank responded as Gerard typed the lyric. "This should be the chorus."

"Oh, yeah, that would work well," Gerard responded.

After about 6 hours of writing lyrics and music, the song was titled and ready to be recorded.

"Hey, instead of recording this now, I have an idea," Frank said.

"What?"

"We could come back here on March 22nd, play some old songs, and then record this and make it just like the old times when we would just play songs for the hell of it."

"That should be.... fun," Mikey said.

"Let's do it," Ray replied.

"Ok, yeah. I like that too." Gerard said. "We could make it a tradition for every year."

"Cool. See you all then." Frank said.
