"Woah! This place is super quiet!" Timmer whispers to Kenner.
She flipped her long black hair onto one shoulder. Kenner agreed with a slight nod as she came to a complete halt, Timmer stood a few feet behind her. They both stared intently at the small shop sign that read 'open' in large white cursive letters.
"Well, looks like they are open." Said Kenner.
She walked up the two wooden steps that led to the glass door and a small bell rang as soon as the door opened. Timmer pushed her way in front of Kenner walking in first and headed straight to the food aisle to grab snacks and some supplies to make s'mores. Kenner, on the other hand, went to the front of the store where her attention was immediately turned to the small maps and flyers that were under the cashier's counter. There was no one behind the counter causing the entire shop to feel like it was deserted.
"Huh, seems like no one is here. Maybe there is a bell we can ring?" Said Timmer as she walked up to Kenner with bags of junk food in her arms.
Kenner rolled her eyes and smiled at Timmer, who dropped all the packaged foods on the plastic counter. She let out a heavy breath while wiping the side of her left brow.
"Wow, that was quick." Kenner was impressed at her friend's ability to find snacks quickly.
"It is a pretty small store, not very hard to find things here!" Timmer screeched out with a laugh.
The two friends waited patiently for someone to show up, luckily after a few minutes a middle-aged man opened the front door and rushed to the back of the counter. He reeked of dead fish and had a grease-stained t-shirt on. The wrinkles in his face were so defined as he smiled at the two young girls that stood in front of him.
"I apologize for being late ladies. There was a dilemma near the reservoir," The man apologized. They smiled politely at him as he began ringing up the food items and placing them in paper bags.
Kenner grabbed a few of the maps and tossed them onto the counter as well before the cashier could say the total price.
"Visiting?" He asked.
"Yeperino! Any places you recommend that are worth visiting?" Timmer questioned.
He laughed a bit at her choice of words.
"There is that reservoir nearby, it is a great place to go swimming at. Everything here is beautiful...just don't go to Ash Mountain."
Timmer tilted her head and raised an eyebrow to the middle-aged man.
"And why not?" Kenner asked.
Before he could answer someone else walked into the little shop. Timmer turned her head to the boy that was around the same age as the two girls. Maybe a year or two older. He held buckets of...oh no...WORMS.
"Hey Dad, Where do you want me to put these?" His deep voice thundered.
He was quite attractive in Timmer's opinion. As he neared closer to the middle-aged man, Timmer slowly hid behind Kenner, trying not to show any sign of fear. Worms were her biggest phobia.
"Just set them down right there next to these two lovely ladies."
The boy walked past them lugging the two large buckets. As soon as he dropped the buckets he wiped his hands on the sides of his cargo pants. Timmer avoided the worms and stared at the tall male that stood next to her. His green eyes were like an abyss she was able to stare into all day if she had the chance. His built figure made her blush slightly and glance anywhere but him.
