An old friend

Jake's pov

I had just finished playing the biggest match of them season when I realized I had a text from Sam. He was one of my friends at school. It said he wanted to watch me play my next match. I hadn't seen him since we graduated. School used to be so fun with him around, we played pranks, we took the piss out of everyone who tried hard to get work done and most of all we enjoyed playing pranks on dracula, as we called him, his real name was actually in fact Felix fern. Even when we apparently traveled to different dimensions, which turned out to be his fault, we still found ways to make him feel bad about himself. I was hoping to start a new life, no offense to Sam, but all I wanted to do was play football and forget about my past.

" Hey jake mate , want to hang out next week , i was thinking we could go back to Brenim your next match is there right how about i meet you after the match" . Sighing seemed like the only response to Sam's question , there was me trying to forget about my previous life and now it wants to hang out with me . But me being the nice person i am had to answer " ye sure you can chear me on , but i can't exactly eat loads of burgers like i used to be able to , my coach has said i need to go on a diet " . After replying to Sam's text i started to change out of my kit . While i did so my manager walked in and started complaining about the smell which resulted in most of the team sniggering enthusiastically . My manager was the sort of person who lived the whole of there life in luxury and had everything handed to them as a kid so they aren't really used to the real world . Most of the team thought he was a total twat probably because he was so pampered as a kid that he didn't know anything about the real world .

The next day

Brenim was quite a way from where my last match was so i decided to take the train even though i knew it would attract lods of unwanted attention . According to the text he sent me when we had our conversation we had last night he hasn't even moved away from Brenim . It was the biggest shock of the century for sam was the one when we were at school who was saying he couldn't wait to graduate and move away . I'm guessing the reason why has something to do with Mia , there relationship was the number one talked about thing around school .

The journey to Brenim was not as peaceful as expected , when i got of the train i was ambushed by a crowd of football fans who no doubt had seen the goal i scored to win the last match i played . To my surprise sam came to my rescue even though i slightly wished that he hadn't . Sam hadn't change much his face still looked the same he was even wearing the same style of clothes he used to wair . As i walked up to him he started speaking to me " Jake how are you mate , i saw your last goal it was awesome , but not as good as some of the jumps i used to be able to make on my board " . As well as being one of the most popular people at school sam was also one of the most skilled people with a skateboard , one time he even managed to jump over two dustbins without using a ramp . I grunted in response causing him confusion " what's up , is it really that bad being back " . As sam lead me out of the train station and down the road towards his house i shrugged as i replied " maybe , i'm just confused to why exactly you are still living hear , back in school you were always like when i graduate i'm leaving so what happened , hugh " . stopping to turn to look at me sam showed a disappointed face " you know i just didn't feel like it and mia also decided to stay because most of her friends were staying " . So that seemed to be the reason why he stayed but it still seemed confusing . He seemed to be struggling to understand why he threw away his dream of leaving and becoming famous . But yet again he understood Sam would do anything for Mia . She was still with him even after all the times he forgot things .

Sam's house looked exactly the same . The only difference was that there was a red sports car parked on the driveway along with the silver four by four that his family still had . Sam nervously rubbed the back of his neck as i sarcastically nodded towards the red car " its Vince's new car " . we both then laughed and continued walking towards the front door . As Sam reached towards the front door it swung open and Mia flung her arms around sam while kissing him on the cheek . It was pretty obvious that they were still together . After one minute i coughed to get there attention . Sam turned to face me " sorry ......... , they in the garden babe " Mia nodded then lead the way towards the back garden . I looked around the house while following Sam and Mia through the house , it hasn't changed much . The halls were still painted white and the same pictures of sam and his family were displayed on cabinets that were evenly dotted around the place .

" Hey pete give that back " . We turned the corner to see vince running around the pool chasing after pete who was holding his phone and teasing him . Vince looked really frustrated , especially when pete held his phone up in the air " i wonder what i should text her " A startled expression streamed over vince's face just as the boys mum walked out " i think that's enough pete give vince back his phone , otherwise i will give him your dinner " Pete started pouting as he handed Vince his phone back.

After dinner sam and i decided to go on a walk around town .

Lastly we decided to go to den , which is where we lived when we thought we found our way home but it turns out that dracula magically transported us to a different dimension . We all seemed to hate him for that . I think sam still blames him because he missed out on food . AS we started walking along the track we heard someone scream . Realising that the noise came from somewhere near the den i started running towards the sound with a look of sympathy on my face . Only to find a kid with blond hair that he had gelled to the side , he wore black jeans and a grey t-shirt . I approached him cautiously and noticed his clenched fists had smashed into the ground moments before he arrived . At this exact moment sam finally caught up while panting furiously . " hey ... j .. jake ...couldn't .....you ....have waited " After sam announcing there arivale the kid stood up and faced us so we could see his face . He had been crying so much that his face was a bright red and his eyes seemed to look puffy .

"Who ...are ....you , stay away i'll...i'll punch you " Sam raised his eyebrows as the clearly nervous figure was trying to act so confident . While slowly raising my arms in defence i responded " hey we , don't really want to beat up a little kid " . My response seemed to confuse the kid . As he stood up he started moaning to himself then he decide to ask me and Sam a question " where is this place exactly " . me and Sam looked at each other before Sam nugged my shoulder to suggest that i answered " well .... We are still in the forest , we can guide you back to town if you want " . Sam sighed in response and shrugged his shoulders . After thinking about my offer JJ decided to accept it and started walking back to town with me and Sam .

On the way back to town i decided to asked JJ some questions to why he was here in brenim it wasn't exactly like it was a interesting place to visit . " hey so what's your name kid " . JJ hesitated to reply " it's ...Jamie Joe , but everyone calls me JJ " . Sam responded in a different way from what i thought he would , he actually started talking to JJ . " your name is really weird , anyway why are you hear anyway " . A look of disappointment swept across his face as he look at the ground and stopped walking while he started daydreaming . I began to glare at Sam in response to JJ's actions . We all then carried on walking without saying anything .

We only started talking again when we got to the road , which was when JJ eventually decided to answer the question the Sam asked earlier . " i'm only here cuz the band i'm in happen to be stopping hear for one of their performances , and an idiot just so happen to take the piss out of what i said " As an effect of JJ saying that me and Sam stopped dead and turned to face him . But in the corner of my eye saw a figure stood at the end of the road . It looked so much like dracula , i'm just wishing so much that it isn't him . I just don't really feel like i can deal with another friendly ish reunion .
