I was getting used to the fast life in the city. People ran past by me, pushing, pulling and roughhousing all the way.

"Watch out!", a man shouted as he pushed against me. "What's his deal?", I thought.

One thing I truly enjoyed was that everyone's face, beaming like the sun or gloomy like a cloudy day, told a story of its own. Taking a walk was like reading hundreds of books. I took great pleasure in it because well, it at least kept my mid off the horrifying reality of who I was and where I was.

Skipping face to face while sipping on my coffee, I had managed to keep myself entertained. As I shifted my eyes to this one man's face, something else caught my eye, his T-shirt. It looked uncannily familiar, triggered something very distant in my brain. I couldn't help but stare at it, after all, his shirt had a picture, a picture of me.

I kept looking at the T-shirt in awe, my pace undisturbed. When I finally looked up, his eyes caught mine and he had this look on his face, the very same look I had when I saw his shirt, he was surprised, he was confused. It was without a doubt, he'd seen me and had recognized me, it was the last thing I  ever wanted.

He quickly swooped past me and made a U-turn, he was now stalking me.

"Sweet Lord!", I sighed as I was on the lookout for a place to now hide. I didn't want anyone recognizing me because it'd only make things worse. Right then, I  glitched and got hurled to the back of the street, I was taken a couple of meters back.

And then, there was that, I was glitching. If glitching is considered a monstrosity in my world, a world where it's very common, I couldn't help imagine how big of a deal it'd make in this world. So, I was doing my best to stay hidden and invisible and I'd managed to succeed, until now.
