Is it gone down in flames or is it a reverse?

I decided to talk to him about me so he could get to know me and may be there's a slight chance that he could make a conversation so he won't think about the thing that made him feel sad.

"You know something, when I was your age I met a boy like you. He was a good friend of mine. We used to play a lot back then. One day we both were playing under a tree happily without any worries. At that time I saw thick shining rope, I thought it was something like a magic rope which they've shown in tv programs. I tried to take that rope from the ground but my friend snatched my hand back and asked what am I doing. I told him that I was going to take that magic rope. He gave me a tight slap in my back and dragged me back to my home. I was so angry to ask him the reason along the way. Even I tried to bite his hand which was holding mine. But at last I came to know the reason behind his action and I told him that I won't do that again," I said watching him without taking my eyes off him. I know he's listening because his ear muscle was too active to hear what I'm saying. A little smile tugged at my lips.

"Do you want to know the reason, that why he slapped me?" I asked him curiously.  He turned his head and his eyes met mine and he just nodded his head. The enthusiasm died in me when he nodded his head. I sighed and told him that I was chasing a snake, thinking that it was a magic rope.

He just smiled at me his white teeth sparkled in the sun shine. This time his smile reached his eyes. My heart felt warm by his smile even though he doesn't spoke a single word. I returned his smile and told him not to chase the snake thinking that it was a magic rope like me. With that he turned his gaze outside the window. My mind laughed out loud and mocked me for the failure attempt.

After some silence filled minutes, I nudged him again.  "I won't laugh at your name, if you have a funny one. Can you just tell me your name for me?" I said pouting. His warm smile spread across his face.

He searched his back for something. He brought out a note and pen. He turned a new page in that note and wrote, "My name is Vikrant. I'm a silent speaker".

He smiled at me after closing his note and pen. I was too stunned to speak. Then realization struck me like a missile. I was just nagging a child for my sake without knowing anything about him.

"I thought he was a brat," my heart ached at this thought. I felt like air knocked out of my lungs. He was watching me with a warm smile. "I'm sorry, I didn't know that," I said.

He opened his note and wrote something. He showed me that page, it said "Don't worry about me. The sound may be muted in my mouth but I'm sound enough when it comes to my brain. I won't try to catch magically moving rope like you. So don't worry" with a smiley face at the bottom. I laughed after reading that and he too smiled. It makes my heart warm and fuzzy.
