Chapter 7 The Wait
We were waiting in the waiting room for 10 hours. My mom comes in and says "He's ok but your dad is in jail now so he can't hurt any of us but he has to stay over night so you guys can have a sleepover. You guys go home I will stay overnight ok." "Ok mom bye."
...At home...
"I hope nothing happens while he's in the hospital." LilyPad says. "Yea I know I'm so scared for Max hopefully he is safe and won't get hurt!" I said "Lets go to bed.Night."
...12:00 a.m ...
The phone rings and we all wake up.The caller id read children's hospital I answer it and say "Hello" "Is this the Chadwick house?" the nurse said on the other line. "Yes why?" I say kind of shakey I start getting goosebumps on my skin. "I am very sorry Max Chadwick has passed away I am very sorry for your loss." the nurse says and I burst into tears my only brother was now dead he was so young. I say "Thank you for notifying that to me." then she hangs up. " What did the nurse say?" LilyPad asks. "Max is not with us anymore" I say and we all start to cry and I say "you jinxed it Lilypad !" I say still in tears. " I am so sorry I jinxed it." she says with tears in her eyes and I say "it's ok you didn't mean to jinxs it I forgive you LilyPad." and we all cry ourselves to sleep.
