Canada, Ontario, 6:50 am.

''Wake up,'' my mom opens my window, early morning light meeting my sleepy eyes.

''I hate it when you do that mom," I groan, ''yeah yeah, just hurry up Samantha'' my mom is already walking down the stairs. I yawn and get out of bed. ''Sam'' I say, knowing my mom won't hear it anymore. I quickly get dressed and pull my half-long blonde hair into a ponytail, adding light makeup to my face. I walk downstairs and meet my mom drinking coffee and reading the newspaper.

''Hey I'm ready to go,'' I tell my mom. ''Okay lets go, Samantha." My mom laughs, I smile and roll my eyes. ''Sam.'' I tell her. I take my seat in the car, ''We're almost at school, are you nervous?'' My mom asks me. ''Yeah of course, a little bit. But being new has his perks though, I can act all cool now." I jokingly say. My mom, my stepfather and I moved here about a month ago, because my stepfather has a job here, my dad died almost 6 years ago.''You are one weird kid,'' She says, parking the car. I get my bag and get out, ''Thanks mom, see you later!'' I wave.''Goodluck Sammy," She says before driving away.

I walk into the hallways of school and look around me, not knowing what to do now. I see people walking, talking and laughing while getting in time to their classes, probally talking about how cool their summer was.

''Hi I'm Sam'' I awkwardly wave. A older lady with cute glasses on her face smiles warmly at me, ''Ah! Samantha, the new girl! I hope you like it here." I smile. I'm already pretty sure I won't, considering I had hard times making friends back in Florida as well. But I politely nod and thank her anyways. She hands me my schedule, which says I have history as we speak. ''Oh, I need to hurry, bye.'' I wave quickly before walking towards a classroom i suppose I'm expected at. I open the door, a whole classroom full of people staring at me. ''Ah! Samantha the new girl!" An old and grumpy looking man sighs.'''Erm, hi.'' I smile. ¨You can take you seat... Over there,¨ He points out an empty seat next to an brown messy haired boy. I take the seat and sigh.

''Hi I'm shawn,'' He smiles and his straight white teeth are showing.

''Hey, I'm Samantha, but I'm rather called Sam.'' I laugh.
