King Roman's Pov

After I threw my 3rd glass of the evening at the wall and watched it shatter, I moved to my couch and just put my head in my hands. The incompetence of my beta is infuriating sometimes. He's my best friend but that doesn't give him the right to throw aside his duties to "explore this enticing city". I'm gonna kill him when he gets back.

I'm so on edge lately. I've gone to at least 20 cities and I still haven't found my mate. I'm 28, and I still haven't found her. I'm the fucking King so for heavens sake. I need a mate.

find mate, never let mate go. my wolf Xavian says (Zay-vie-an)

and I completely agree with him. When I find her, I'm never letting her go, she's made me wait long enough.

The alpha of this pack is so incompetent I think to myself as I read some of his reports. His Pack is the largest in america aside from my royal pack which is in Toronto, Canada. Since I'm the alpha King, I rule the Americas. The vampires have Europe, Witches have Africa, Faes and Fairys have Asia, and the demons have Australia. We all keep to ourselves for the most part, especially since we all took over from the humans and separated.

The more I read this insolent's report the angrier I get. the human resistance groups in his territory are getting out of hand. He isn't doing enough. When I became Alpha King at 18 and took back control from the humans, I put strict systems in place to keep them in check, and he is letting them slip away.

punish him. show him who is really in control her. Xavian growls out.

the more I'm thinking about him, the angrier I'm getting. I push myself off the couch and yell at a maid to clean my office. I walk to the elevator and get in. It stops at the 23 floor and a she wolf gets on.

the stench of her perfume is disgusting, I feel like I'm choking. She looks me up and down and purrs "alpha, so good to finally meet you. I'm Celeste, and might I say you're even more handsome in person."

I look down at her and smirk, grabbing her hand and the elevator opens into the lobby. I push her hand off and use my alpha tone, "touch me again, and I cut off your hand," and walk into the lobby.

It's brightly lit and takes my eyes a second to adjust the white floors are so polished I can almost see my reflection in it. Everyone looks to me then bows and I smirk again. "good, they know their place. unlike that slut." I agree with Xavian then walk outside into the rain and into my waiting car. I tell him to take me to the Alpha's office and we're off.

I get to his house, hop out, and slam the door shut. I walk inside the building and into his office ignoring the people cowering away from my obvious anger. I slam open his office and am surprised to see my beta already in their chewing him out. I smile to myself and shut the door.

As soon as I do, I smell something Incredible.

Mate! Mate! Mate! Xavian excitedly chants in my head.

I growl loud enough to shake the office when I realize the smell is coming off my beta. I stalk over to him and grab him by the neck slamming him into the wall.

"WHY THE HELL IS MY MATES SMELL ON YOU!?" I loudly growl out

he looks up at me petrified before shakily answering

"I r-ran into a human girl at a store. S-she was crying, said she didn't have enough money for food for h-her. I-I-I paid for it, she thanked me, and left. That was the only girl I've touched today. She looked a-about 18"

"Get the soldiers. I don't care how many it takes, have them round up all the women age 16-25. have it done in 2 hours, or You're both dead." I look at the alpha and my beta before I leave, and they both look terrified.

good. now go change. we must look good for mate. I agree with him and then head back to the hotel, there's nothing I can do until all the girls are rounded up.

Katerina's Pov

"BANG BANG BANG"

I sit up in shock from the pounding on our door before sprinting up to open it. I open it to see two werewolf soldiers, and I suddenly feel under dressed in my sleep shorts and old shirt.

"how old are you" the taller one growls out sounding and looking very annoyed. I'm still a bit shocked and don't answer quick enough because he loudly growls.

"s-s-seventeen sir" I say quietly looking down. God why do they want to know this? I'm terrified and my hands are shaking. The mean one grabs my arm, wrenching me outside.

"STOP! I can't go anywhere! It's just me and my little brother, I have to take care of him!"

I try to fight but it's no use, he just pulls me along laughing. "alpha's orders" he says, "the kid'll be fine for a few hours." he pushes me into a van and I see it's filled with at least 20 other girls. None of us are talking, and a couple more girls get thrown on.

The van starts moving and I look around. Some of the girls are crying, some whispering among themselves. I sit there and think about Alexei, what's he gonna do when he wakes up and I'm not there? I was sitting there freaking out when the car suddenly stops and the doors are slammed open. A guard yells at us to get out and we all do so as quickly as possible.

We're in a large field and there is a raised platform. We're guided to the middle of the field and told to stand there. It's been and hour and still nothing is happening when I hear a car motor. A completely black car pulls up and the door opens. Out steps the most attractive man I've ever seen.
